Dawn of the dragons

In the end it’s all I got left….

My name is Ammy Jin Kaiba, that’s right I’m a Kaiba. Most people would say “you should be proud of who you are,” and don’t get me wrong I am proud…but also disappointed. My father, with his obsession of this child’s card game. My father had, and still does have, this picture of my future, where I’m the top duelist. However I don’t like it all that much. No, but that was before I met you. Because of you I found that passion that my father had and my mother before me. I play so I can be closer to you…ray Fujiwara…these are the small steps I took to get to you.

Chapter 1: birthday

I woke up to the sound of my older brother’s rumble of a voice.
“Wake up Jin!” he huffed pulling the covers off. I groaned in irritation. Today I did not want to wake up. You see for today was unfortunately my birthday. Now most fifteen year olds would rejoice over their sixteenth birthday. You know the whole sweet sixteen bull. Well not me! My sweet sixteen is like a slap in the face! All it is, is a duel with my brother then I get my fathers prized possession, his duel monster cards!
“Come on Jin!” he repeated
“Shut up Sai!” I yelled kicking him off my bed and onto the floor with quite a thud.
When I got up, my hair was a brown mess on my head. I was dark skinned thanks to my mother’s side of the family, but I got my eyes and hair color from my father.
Mother had prepared the best breakfast as always, and just the way I liked it too. All sweets and no meats.
“Its no wonder why you’re so damn thin!” Sai laughed poking me with his spoon. I stuck my tongue out at him then continued eating.
“Good morning,” said a low tired voice. Telling from that I could tell that dad pulled another all nighter again. He came to my brother and pats him on the head then walked to me.
“Happy birthday Ammy,” he sighed then kissed the top of my head.
I won’t talk much about the duel with my brother, but I can tell you that it was short. Simple and clean. A red eyes black dragon, a twin headed behemoth, and element dragon was all I needed to beat him, plus some nice spell and trap cards. Father was disappointed in Sai.
“How do you expect to get my company if you lose like that!” my father demanded.
“i'm sorry father, it wont happen again,” sai apologized.
Father gave him his famous death glare then walked to me. He smiled softly then handed me four cards, all face down into the palm of my hand. I flipped them face up to see what they were. All three blue eyes white dragon and ultimate dragon as well….well relaxed and happy. The funny thing about it is that it’s only with that one card. I mean if you put a different blue eyes in my hand, when I was a small child, I would cry because I knew that wasn’t my dragon. Funny huh? Anyways my dad was very pleased with me.
“It’s up to you to keep up the Kaiba reputation,” he said then left for a phone call. My brother walked towards me then pulled me into a hug.
“I lost on purpose,” he whispered into my ear.
“What? But you love this game! Why lose on purpose!?” I demanded.
Sai’s eyes grew soft as he turned me around. “Simple, you love that card, and don’t say you don’t cause its obvious that you do,” Sai laughed. I giggled but only for a short while.
“You gave up your chance to get out of here you know?” I told him sadly
“Yeah, but I gave it to someone who deserves more. Besides once I take over I just might be able to travel ya know?” Sai replied lightly squeezing my arms.
“Thank you Sai,” I thanked then broke the hug. There was this one more card and my deck will be complete. I don’t remember all that well but I know it’s a strong dragon. Well I know I won’t stop now. Not when I have an older brother to make proud.
“I always knew that you would be the keeper of the blue eyes white dragon,” Sai laughed. “Ever since you were old enough to hold a card in your tiny hands.”
I looked up at him. “What do you mean?” I asked. Sai pulled out my blue eyes white dragon. You know the one that I loved since I was very small. I tried to take it back from him, but he was taller and stronger than me.
“See, this is the card you never wanted anyone else to see or touch,” he started to laugh. I didn’t fin it funny at all, even if it was true! “Give her back,” I whispered, my neck bent down, my head hanging in defeat.
“Don’t cry I’ll give it back,” Sai mocked.
“She’s a girl not an it!” I spat stomping on his foot. Sai dropped my card to grab his foot. I quickly picked her up and placed her in between my deck so that he won’t get her again.
“That wasn’t necessary!” he yelled at me.
“You wouldn’t let go,” I huffed then walked to my room. My mother was there, sitting on the bed. She had with her a small heart locket.
