The Darklings
"Rixa, I thought I'd find you lurking around here.What's the matter?", Riku asked, approaching Rixa.She had been toying around with her darklings, trying to find the next one she would send to fight Sora and his friends.
"This is what you've been up to?I thought you were making plans on how to find Sora again."
"It can wait.I have to find the perfect hunter to play with my prey.", she answered.
She summoned her serpent and pet its head.It hissed at her touch, loving the feeling of her hand against it's hide.Riku had yet to understand how those creatures came to be.They weren't heartless or Nobodies, so what were they?
"If they bother you that much, I'll send them away."
"It's not that they bother me, they're just...strange.Rixw, what are they exactly?"
"They are called darklings, creatures born from the darkness.They aren't like heartless or Nobodies.They're only purpose is to obey my every whim."
"But how did they..."
"Come into existence?I don't fully understand either, but from what they've told me, they were born from people's emotions.Each one represents a different aspect of the human heart.They have no need to capture hearts, like heartless, or attack others for needing a sense of self, like Nobodies."
"Rixa, then why...I've seen you go out alone and talk to them for hours.Am I not enough?"
"The only reason I talk to them that much is...maybe they know who I was before all this.When I was in that dark place, a voice spoke to me.It knew things...It told me what I really was and what Xemnas was planning.I thought that if that voice knew those things, the darklings could have knowledge about my past."
"Rixa, I made a promise to you a long time ago.I will find out about your past.If you would let me..."
"You have other things to work on.Need I remind you of that?"
"Alright, I understand."
Riku walked away, leaving Rixa and the serpent alone.She had been acting cold towards him and it made him worry.He wanted to focus on helping her, but DiZ made him put his efforts on helping Sora, not Rixa.
She will find her way soon enough, Riku.
"Even so, it feels like she's only losing a bit of herself everyday..."
