CHAPTER FOUR: AWOKE


"Are you okay? I'm sorry about that. I couldn't do it. I realized a bit too late what I was doing. But I stopped. I'm sorry you look like that monster now. Well at least you are wearing proper clothes," she heard the second voice of before say. She opened her eyes to his question. And just stared at him through his explanations. She didn't scream or run. She was too tired to. What had just happened to her?

It seems like just yesterday that she became a vampire. At least that's what she thought she had become, when Chris Maddy and the other one explained it to her. She had thought they were just a legend. She guessed she was wrong about that legend thing. I mean wasn't she real? She didn't feel real. Just hallow. From her body to her spirit? What happened to her? She didn't even seem to care that she was perfectly normal one day and not the next. Even human and now a monster.

For it was yesterday according to Chris and the other one. She only knew Chris's name. The other one had long forgotten his.

But what a history book. The other one filled them in on the whole history of vampires. Of how they originally started with fallen angels from the sky. How they were shunned cause they followed the evil one. And how they had to feed off humans to survive.

Even how some of the humans survived, barely, due to their feeders being interrupted or something. Only to become what they escaped from. Not knowing why they didn't even feel anger about what was done to them. It was these once humans, who once they realized what they were, wanted to find a way to be remembered for doing some good. They decided to leave some of their victims alive. At first they didn't know what they had done. Once they figured it out they decided to treat them as children. Since that's in an essence what their victims now were to them. And so a tradition was started to save at least one victim, and to tell the story of what they had become and why.
