Pain. There was always pain.
It seemed like a never ending world of pain. whether it was the hateful swords, or the words and screams, she could feel it. Whether it was hers, or someone else's, she could hear it. And it never creased to be there, right in her head. In her heart. She could hear the heartbeats of the village below, making for a horrid reminder of what she was. For with every beat, she could hear the fear. And it made her want to run away. But everywhere she went, she was always rejected Just because of something she couldn't change, or help.
Her name was Nex Pennae. it was an old Latin name, given to her when she was just a child. And her old name was forgotten, as her village forgot her. In Latin, in meant " Death Wings ". Because, out of all the girls in her village, Nex had been the one who received the soul of the last Water Dragon, making her the new holder. Instead of the relief and celebration her village should have felt, they instead were shocked, and started to hate her. Why was she different? What made her any better then them, to have been bestowed with the this power? She was not the most beautiful; And the dragon spirit had granted her dragons horns, the faint wings and tattoo of the Water Dragons. She herself had dark blue hair, and deep blue eyes. Her skin was pale, and her ears pointed. What mad her special? Simply envy turned to jealous, which soon turned deadly. And on the night of her 16 birthday, they cursed her. And she, in turn, went in a Dragon Frenzy, a rage which was unable to be stopped. And she killed everyone.
Cursed to have to stay in her dragon form, and not be in her human form for more then 4 hours of daylight, Nex had fled. And now dwelled in the mountain side, near a small village. many times she had tried foolishly to talk to the people below, to help them out with their problems. But she was just seen as she was; A long, thin, strong dragon with gray skin, and deep blue eyes, sharp teeth and claws, and wings that could push houses down. Afraid for her life, she kept herself hidden form the humans. And now, she could heart, a separate heartbeat, one very close. She pulled herself out of her bed of water, changing into her dragon form, and crawled out, lookign around carefully.
