It was a warm summer day and Crystal was out in the field on her bicycle trying to go faster then her new friends: William, Ricky, Aaron, and Jason. Aaron looked to the other boys and knew what they were thinking, so he took Crystals bike and told her that they all had to talk. Crystal, being only eleven at the time, thought that he was joking but when she saw his expression she knew that he wasn’t kidding. She sat down and waited for some one to start talking and the one that did was Jason with his usual “well then” that meant that every one should be quiet and let him talk.
"So Crystal you know how we have been playing pretend games with you for the past month?”
“Yeah, so what does it have to do with anything”
“It’s has to do with every thing!” said Aaron with as much kindness as a mountain loin.
“Play nicely Aaron she’s one of the last mysticals we don’t need to scare her away.” William told Aaron in a kind almost soothing voice. Crystal just looked at the pair of them as though they had lost there mind for Crystal never heard them say some thing like that since she met them. She kept her comments to herself because her best friend Darin was coming over with her second best friend Christian. As soon as the other boys saw them they stopped the conversation immediately.
When Darin saw Crystal he gave her a gigantic hug and Christian gave her a high five. Crystal looked at them and said, “what the occasion”
Darin replied, “It’s summer what better occasion is that”
“Yeah and we what you to go to the skate park with us and I mean that new one that’s opening today” said Christian with excitement in her voice.
“Sure I’ll go as long as these guys go with us”
“Okay Crystal” agreed Darin
Crystal ran up the field to get her skateboard and her sell phone. Then she ran back down the field to all her friends that were waiting on her. Darin stared at Crystals skateboard in awe, for Crystal had one the best skateboards “Zero” so Darin, being such a great skater, was jealous. Christian didn’t care much for skateboarding as much as she did ice skating. For the skate park that was opening that day had a ice skating arena.
The other boys were talking amongst themselves about the conversation that they had before Crystals’ best friends came over. Crystal heard Aaron say to Jason and William, “she has to know that she is a mystical and she has to know it now before Helinus comes back and tries to kill her again!”
“She can’t she’s way to young” said William determined to make a point.
“I agree she’s only twelve Windelmor she is to young to know. Lets just stretch her imagination some more before we advance her to trainer!” argued Jason. Ricky said to Jason’s argument with Aaron, “ she’s eleven and you just said Aarons’ elemental name.” Jason looked at Ricky as though he had just insulted him in front of god and every body. But when Crystal heard all of this she thought she was going insain so she asked them if she heard right. They all answered with a yes and Crystal got scared. For she knew that none of them were liar’s and that they were her friends so they would not joke around with her because they weren’t that funny. Crystal walked over to them and started to ask them more questions.
“So what are mysticals any way? Are they some sort of god or monster?”
“No, they are what you call protectors until a certain time when they become elementals” answered Ricky
“But why am I one, I can’t protect any one from anything”
“Because you are a first born that was chosen to be a mystical Crystal” said Aaron bitterly. Crystal just started to walk to the skate park. Darin walked up beside her and looked at her face, which was pale and her eye were staring into space thinking hard about what she had just found out.
“Are you okay Crystal you look like your lost in thought” said Darin getting closer to her to try and help her, if she needed it.
“It’s just that the guys are trying to say that I am this thing called a mystical and that I was a first born that was chosen. I mean how stupid does that sound right. Darin are you okay”
Darin’s’ face was ghost white he didn’t say a word to her for he was in shock. She can’t be a mystical because I am a mystican (male mystical)”,thought Darin but then other thoughts came in his head, “well if she’s a mystical then maybe she will like me more and she would want to be my…” Then his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Crystal’s voice yelling, “yes were here just in time they’re opening the doors”
As they walked up they saw a young man with blonde hair that was in a pony tail and asked them, “are you all together and are any of you checking anything out?” Christian answered sarcastically, “no we’re here to just look at the entrance and are holding our stuff to skate with for nothing.” Every one laughed except for the guy at the door. He just answered with a grunt in his tone, “ha ha very funny come on in and get what you need and go skate or some thing.” Crystal said to be a smart mouth, “what ever you say dude.” but he just walk be hide the counter beside a wall of skateboards and stared at the computer that was beside the cash register.
As every one started checking stuff out, William walked over to Crystal to tell her that she had to find out sooner or later.
“But I don’t ever want to know something like that, it’s just crazy and how am I supposed to become this elemental any way?” said Crystal as confused as ever. William replied, “well how you become and elemental is that you train and as you train you go up to harder levels like in a video game. Beginner, Trainer, Master, then Ultimate. Then when you are an Ultimate you protect the dimensions until one elemental dies then you would replaces them.”
“I’M A REPLACEMENT!!!!!” yelled Crystal in anger.
“In a sense of the word yes and no. You will become stronger and more powerful, agilest of that element.” said William trying to calm her.
“Okay, so, is it the same as the games?” Crystal Asked.
“yes, and you have, now that you know what you need to know, excelled to Trainer!” answered William.
