So my ex is getting married in September, which I just found out today. On talk like a pirate day--go figure.
I'm not surprised, just surprised that I didn't know until a mutual friend was checking her calendar for cruise dates.
Her: I have a couple free weekends in September--just can't do this weekend here -point- since it's M and B's wedding.
Pat: ...What?
Her: oh... -Cue deer in the headlights look- You didn't know?
Pat: Well, I do now.
Yeesh.
I mean, ok, we haven't talked much in the past few months, but I'm sure they've had this planned since before that. Not to mention we'd been friends for seven years besides. I think a couple months of disappearing off the face of the earth is to be expected now and again. It's just what I do.
So I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt--going to assume she didn't tell me because she knows I hate weddings and doesn't want to hear me actually say "I'm glad that you're happy, but no ******** way am I coming."
Or maybe there's just some code saying you don't invite anyone to weddings that either partner has slept with in the past--which is probably smart. Of course I'm not going to run off with the bride, even if it would be completely fair payback.

Mostly for my reference, but it is what it says.
