"Ally, Allay, Al, Al Pal, Al Gal..." I looked at my art teacher, Archie, confused. He's always talking about something different everyday. This time, it's name changing. I come in to the art class in the morning. No one is here except Archie. It's peaceful.
"Archie, Ally reminds me of an alley, Allay reminds me off L.A, Al reminds me of a guy, Al Pal...no comment, and Al Gal seemed to perky." I muttered as I erased a part of my drawing.
"Child, don't erase. Remember, art makes no mistakes." His back was to me as I kept erasing.
Okay, so I was upset about last night. But who could blame me? I meet my dad's new girlfriend, I get harrassed while in the car by a group of boys, and this guy who rescued me from those group of boys, kept staring at me. I'm not going to lie, he terrified the hell out of me. When we locked eyes, I couldn't breathe. I felt like I knew the guy even though I never laid eyes on him before.
I felt the erase leave me hands and be replaced with an art pencil. I looked up to Archie nodding his head. I rolled my eyes as I drew what was on my mind. I drew the guy's eyes. Catlike yet still human. His eyes light blue yet dark.
"Guy eyes." He rotated the pictures. "You can tell by shape."
I told Archie a short story about last night. When I finished the story he shook his head. "He just stared at you? That's strange."
"Yeah, and the weird thing is is that I felt like I knew him." I said as I scribbled my name on the paper. Archie gets upset when we don't name our art pieces. I remember this one time, this girl, Lucy Gorwin forgot to put her name on her art piece and Archie flipped. It was funny for the class but not so much for poor Lucy.
"But you've never seen him." He grabbed color pencils and handed them to me.
"Never." I opened the box and began coloring the eyes. I blended different kinds of blues. Sky blue mixed with night blue, a little bit white and then added a sliver of violet.
"You've drawn those eyes before." He said. I snapped my head towards him. I don't remember these eyes.
"I don't think so, Archie." I said as he grabbed the book of students' art pieces. He turned the pages and made a little sound as he found what he wanted. He sat it down and pointed at the art piece. Sure enough, there was my name and those eyes. I felt my jaw drop.
"Same eyes except that the one in the book is darker, smeared, and hard to see." He nodded.
I was about to reply, but the bell rang. I grabbed my bag and art book and hurried out, knocking into someone. I cursed loudly as my tail bone hit the floor. I bit my bottom lip, trying not burst out crying.
"Hey, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I was looking at my classes..." He drailed off as I started to stand.
"Yeah, it's fine." My voice came out in a harsh whisper. I looked up and froze. It was that guy. The one with the blue eyes. The one that kept staring at me. I started to say something but stopped, turned my back and left.
