Practicum
Tami and Mary had the Easter program for their story hours today (a few groups combined, around the ages of 3-5), so the basement was filled with energetic children. After trouping all over the place trying to find a can opener large enough to open the gigantic can of pudding for their snack and helping set up, I got to hide the eggs in the children's area of the library (the basement - we were going to have it outside, but alas, snow in April). Unfortunately Ben (Tami's son, whom she volunteered to help) and I weren't fast enough and the kids emerged looking for eggs before we were finished. I shall be faster tomorrow. Then I counted how many Kwik DVD security cases that we had and boxed them (the library no longer uses that kind of security case, so they are hoping to either sell or give them to CML, who does). I also put some new DVDs in security cases. I spent a large portion of time weeding magazines (changing their status in the system and blacking out the barcodes). I also made more spine labels and did some shelving and circulation work (checking items in and sorting holds).
