The Hunting of the Scrib: an agony in eight Fits
What is this journal I ask myself? Well, First things first. I would like to apologise to Lewis Caroll for the name >.< He ish my hero. But what is contained within? Females! Vampires! Ghosts! And other paranormal subjects!
Fit the Third:
The War of the Stars

I am a dedicated Star Wars fan, and because of this, I decided it is my duty to clear up some common misconceptions about Star Wars.

The First: Storm Troopers.

No one seems to really know much about Storm Troopers, even 'fan's have only a vague understanding of them from my experience. They are not simple "soldiers" their not "recruits", and they are not "lowly grunts".

Storm Troopers are the Elite within the Empire. They are, by and large, the best armed, armored, disciplined and most well trained soldiers in the galaxy. Small groups may be able to claim greater skill such as the Elite Commandos of the Alliance or the Trianni rangers, but by and large, no military can stand up to Storm Troopers in an equal fight.

They are not the Only soldiers in the empire. Anyone notice those soldiers in gray suits with black helmets in the Original Trilogy? Those are Imperial Navy marines. There are also Army soldiers which have some screen time in Endor. While in the Trilogy, you don't see much other then elite forces.
Don't believe me? Look at the locations you see Imperials in the films.

Mos Eisley; the most initially deceptive. While Tatooine is in Nowhere Land, it was a center of Imperial focus at this point in time because of the escaped droids containing critical information.

The Death Star; This is rather obvious I think. The super battlestation, symbol of the empire, current location of Darth Vader and home to the Original Grand Moff, Grand Moff Tarkin. Nuff said.

Hoth: Rather obvious as well. The center of the rebellion, home to generals and personnel alike.

Bespin: This one is also pretty obvious. Darth Vader arrived with storm troopers, his elite squadron.

Endor: Home to the Shield Generator guarding the second Death Star. Need I say more?

Also, all the star Destroyers? We never even see a Star Destroyer's interior that didn't contain either an Admiral, Moff, Grand Moff, or Vader himself.

Also, why do Storm Troopers suck so much? Because the film's a Fantasy movie and the characters shown are heroes. Heroes somehow cause enemies to lose all their skills, watch nearly any film and note this magical phenomenon. From Xena to Beastmaster to Dune. Note what happens when Storm Troopers engage Rebels, they win. Their massacred the Elite rebels on Hoth and I believe you only see one or two Storm Troopers die in the entire assault on the Tantive IV.

It's just the nature of the Hero story. Heroes are magical. From Chuck Norris films to Anime, the trend is unending, and always will be. Heroes are immune to complete realism.
