Blind Man Running By C. Callahan
Seven - two - zero - six - six is the code to the alarm on my house. I live with my Dad (Bill), my sister (Glen), my step-mother (Linda), and her son (Donny). My real mom died of a tumor that exploded in her brain, that was when I was ten years-old and Glen was three. Dad was so devastated that he began gambling. That's how he met Linda, she was one of the guests in the hotel who also loved to gamble all of her money away. Dad said he fell in love with her once he laid eyes on her. Well, he comes home with her, (this is the first time we even seen each other), and tells us that he's goin' to marry this chick, then he introduces us to Donny, he didn't seem to like us... Or his mother. Dad has this obsession over being called 'Sir' now because Donny always calls him sir, but the only thing that is scary about dad that he's very, very strict. Well since mom died anyway. And when I disobey him he gets red in the face and sometimes smacks me (not hard though). Only me, when no ones around. He says he doesn't it because I'm the oldest one and I should act more like an adult. Dad is a stocky man, that always wheres a pair of jeans and a nice T - shirt, and works out all the time. He has dark brown eyes, a stubbed nose, he's clean shaved, and has black hair. His face makes him look like he's in his twenties instead of being forty. All the girls at my school drool every time they see him. Glen is my blood sister, but feels like a distant relative. We don't talk much. She pisses me off for some reasons, I don't know of. She has long black hair like father except he has a crew cut, and she has big hazel eyes like our mother. She acts so happy all the time. She was even smiling at mother's funeral! She has this big smile that used to be mother's. All her teeth are pearly white and she thinks Linda is awesome. She is the only one that is close to dad and Linda. Donny is sixteen years old. He has blue eyes that look really mature (like and adults), he always wheres shirts with death-metal bands on them, and he wheres jeans, he has light brown hair and his expression is always calm. He looks absolutely nothing like his mother, and he is way more mature then our parents... But I don't know much about him, we don't talk much. Linda is always trying to take the place of my mother. That is the reason I hate her, and she's always hanging off dad. I don't know much about her, and I sincerely don't care. She has long auburn hair, her eyes are small and brown. She's very thin and always wheres dresses, skirts, and blouses. My family is more like strangers living in the same house. My mother had long golden hair, like mine and she had the most beautiful green eyes in the world. I look just like mother except for my eyes, my left eye is brown and my right eye is light green. She was thin and laughed so much, so hard that she would make anyone grin. She took care of dad and when she died dad just stopped tr-- There was a knock on my door. I took off my head sets off and walked to the door to open it, and what a surprise Glen was smiling moms smile, that big toothy one that made me grin back. But these days I don't grin back, it just makes me hurt even more. "Dinners done!" She said in that high pitched excited voice of hers. "I'll be down in a second." I said, slowly. She bounced and said, "Okay!" She skipped down the hallway and down the stairs. I walked out of my room, shut the door and started to walk began to walk down the stairs, when the door bell rang. I decided to get the door after the person rang the door bell for the third time. When I opened the door there was a tall pretty boy with purple hair, a black leather jacket, black jeans, and black police looking boots. "How may I help you?" I asked putting on a fake smile. "Are you Luca?" His voice was very soft, almost as soft as cat fur if that's even possible. He smiled also. His teeth were very white.
