Part XV…

Ƿawn breaks thru the sky…the morning dew blankets the lush greenery as it glistens in the warm morning sunlight…there, lies Darthra and Saleena as the warm morning air kisses them to wake up…Darthra opens his eyes slowly as he sees it has became a new day…there on his lap, Saleena lies…looking around as he yawns and stretches, he notices the blade from the fight last night…he puts his hand on Saleena’s cheek to wake her up, as he tells her dawn has come…Saleena woke up, looking into his subtle glowing eyes…smiles up at him, “Good morning Darthra…” she said softly to him…”Good morning Saleena…did you have a nice rest?...” He replies happily…”Yes I did…I felt safe being by your side…” She slowly kissed his cheek…Darthra smiled combing his hand thru her silky hair…as they both got up, Saleena notices the blade and asks Darthra about it…”Darthra?...Perhaps you can use that blade for future fights…” Darthra gets an idea…”hmmm…you know…I can, can I?...” he then laughs…he walks over to pick it up, then asked Saleena if she had anything to lash it with to wear on his arm…Saleena, “here…” She rips off part of her old dampened dress so Darthra can use as rope…Darthra takes it and wraps it around his left arm with the cloth, then notices small holes at the base of the blade, so he then inserts the ends of the cloth thru them, making a shing blade…he then shows it to Saleena…”It looks useful, now you have something to defend and attack with!” She tells him…Darthra, “Yes, now for the testing of its durability…” he chuckled...he leaps up into the morning sky, dashes into a dead tree, then slashes it with the new weapon…cutting the tree down…Darthra then lifts up his head…”Tis a perfect weapon…” then casually walks back over to Saleena and gives her a big hug…

They both walked around the lively green woods to find some food to eat…Darthra asked Saleena if she knew if there was any eatable berries near by…she answered, “Keep an eye out for some purple ones…huckleberries grow around here someplace…be sure to keep an eye out for wild peppers for they are a delicacy…just be sure they are ripened first.” Darthra then helps Saleena look around the area for the peppers and berries…he looked in a bush and found a perfect stick for a spear…he cuts the branch to use as a spear…sharpening the end making a spear point, he walked over to Saleena and hands it to her, “here, now you have something to defend yourself with!” he smiled at her…Saleena obtains it, “thank you Darthra” she smiles back at him…they both continued walking around looking for food…Saleena shouted, “LOOK A POND! THERE MIGHT BE SOME FISH IN THERE!” So they both ran over to the pond, with the morning sunlight shinning down on it like a mirror…birds flew up into the branches above from their morning bath…Darthra and Saleena searches around looking for fish…Darthra spots one…”Saleena over here!...I found one!” She hands him the spear…slowly takes aim at the fish…”GOTCHYA!”…piercing the fish, he takes the fish off, then puts it over by the rocks…Saleena looks at it and noticed it was a good sized carp…Darthra continues to find another fish…spotting a school of small minnows and water skippers…he finds a couple crayfish…so he picks them up…

A loud scream…Saleena rushed over to Darthra to see if he was okay…Saleena “Are you okay?!” Darthra, “Yeah, I got pinched…” then he lifts his finger out of the water…showing her a crayfish was hanging off of his pinky…Saleena laughs then helps him get it off…as they got it off, Darthra shakes the pain away…”those things hurt!” he exclaimed…”Yes they do, the secret on gathering them is by grabbing them by the back, so they can’t reach behind and pinch you…” She than shows him how to catch them…Darthra laughs and tries it for himself…”Oh…I got it now…” Saleena kissed him and went back over to the freshly caught carp…starts cleaning it…minutes later, Darthra walks back over to where Saleena was, and puts the crayfish down…”will this due?” He asked…”Yes, that’s plenty.” She answered…then Darthra goes off to gather some firewood to make a campfire to cook the food…he gathers enough wood…comes back to were their camp is going to be…drops the wood…then starts building a fire…snapping his fingers creating a small flame…then adds the wood making it good enough to cook on…Saleena finds a large leaf to put the crayfish in…she covers them up in the leaf and lets them steam…asks Darthra, “Can you find me one more stick?...So I can put the carp over the fire?...” Darthra, “sure” he walks around searching for a good enough stick…locates one…then returns to Saleena handing it to her…She takes it and puts it thru the carp letting it hang over the fire…letting it cook…the aroma of the fish emanates in the air…the smell of the crayfish makes them more hungry…

Hours later…they check on the food…as it’s ready to eat…they sat down next to each other…looking at the pond as the afternoon sunlight shines down…creating a peaceful ambiance…the sounds of the birds chirping…the fish splashing in the pond…the faint smell of the smoke from the campfire…warm air blankets the forest…as they sat and ate their catch…Darthra, “This is good Saleena…you cook well…” he compliments her…”Thank you” she smiles…they both enjoy their meal together alone in the forest, next to a small pond…as they finished their meal…they put out the fire…gathered the spear…and continued walking…
