Personally I view that neither weapons are for cowards, unless the person themselves is a coward. Both weapons need a certain amount of skill to use and with both weapons you can spend years training them so you don't shoot/stab you foot (just an example, their are more way's in injury one's self with either weapon). Both Weapons have the potential of causing serious harm to an opponent. Both can cause dead within an instant. Both can be used in unfair and generally 'cheap' ways to kill someone.

I tend to prefer swords over guns but again the true coward is the one wielding the sword/gun in a way where it's not justly fighting. And with your picture of the man under fire, technically their are also many paintings of men who risked their life, with only a sword at hand. Now how are you not to say you wouldn't' 's**t' your pants at dozen's of armed men coming after your army? No Both weapons have a lot of danger around them and again the true measure of a coward is the manner the person using the gun uses it.
