I See the Kid (Part one and two)
( 1 )

It started out like any other day. He woke up around noon on an all too sunfilled Sunday, threw on some pair of jeans that lied on the floor and walked out to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. The sun barely shone through the closed off windows in his bedroom as he reached for the door knob. He had decided that he'd get better sleep during the day if he had placed dark colored curtains over the windows. On days he didn't have school he wanted to sleep as much as possible.

He could hear the patter of little feet bellow his floor as he poured water into the coffee maker. Although he was only 18 he had started life off early in an appartment because he tired of the home life his family brought him. The only thing he considered his family was good for was paying his cell phone bill for him. Luckily, he was able to find an appartment within walking distance of his school. He knew the owner of the establishment, but then again, he knew most everyone around town. He thanked the owner for the good deal he was able to come up with until he is able to get a job. The owner practically treated him as his own. There were plenty of opportunities in the small town they lived in, so he promised him a payment when he was able to get a payment. He knew the town almost better than the back of his own hand. He had lived there his whole life. Nothing exciting ever really happened besides a house fire every once in a great while. Minor theft also came into play as strangers traveled through the town, but that usually happened anywhere you go.

The cell phone rang. He jumped, startled, as it continued to ring and vibrate across the counter ever so slightly. He considered if he really wanted to answer it or not as he looked at the caller ID. He had just woken up and wasn't in the mood to really talk much. It was his best buddy Andrew. He answered. "Hello?"

"Kyro, buddy, you awake?" Andrew's voice sounded strained like he was just out for a run or was jumping rope. Knowing Andrew anything was possible.

"Barely, what are you up to?" Kyro was getting curious as there was a pause between his question and Andrew's answer.

"Nothing, really. I made my rounds last night just like you wanted." There was concern in his voice. Kyro had had enough practice to recognize trouble in peoples' voices. He has been accustom to trouble for quite a while now.

"Whats the problem Andy? Spit it out already." He chuckled a bit at how his friend couldn't get the news out to him.

"Well, everything was fine until about around-" Kyro cut him off.

"Something wrong? You found something?" Anxiousness immediately filled his body as he waited for his friend's reply.

"Well thats what I'm trying to tell you. I went about on my usual route and around the South West part of town, I noticed something different." He stopped almost abruptly as if he didn't really know how to discribe what he noticed different.

"What was it?" Kyro was almost on edge waiting to know what happened last night.

"I caught a scent that wasn't human. In fact, I'm not really sure what it is. It's deffinitly not human though, I'm sure of that." Relief entered his voice a little now that Kyro knew what he found the previous night.

"What could it possibly be?" Kyro wasn't really asking Andy. He was more thinking out loud than anything else. Worry immediately creased into his forehead as he tried to focus on all the possibilities that it could be.

"I don't know dude but it was pretty freaky. I think we should tell the other boys so their on the alert. I wouldn't want something to happen because they weren't aware."

"Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Lets have a meeting tonight, around that old cave we discoved about a week or two ago. I've got a few things I need to get done today and I'll meet you and the other boys there." He hung up the phone not waiting for a "goodbye." That was how they did things. Kyro needed time to think about what was happening more than anything. He needed to snoop and he needed to know if whatever it was was going to be a risk to the community. He feared the worst and more often than not, he assumed correctly.
