So the after effects of Hurricane Ivan really screwed me over. For reasons I don't quite understand, my restaurant was the only place who's power refused to go out and STAY out. So what happens to poor little me?
I am bombarded by at least three hundred hungry customers who's power is out and we are the only place open they can get to within a fifteen mile radius. The drive-thru line stretched around the restaurant next to us to the street (apparently not a lot of people like Taco Bell).
We were running out of salads, ice cream, coffee, sweet tea (no sweet tea! I'm surprised no one started to riot over that), we didn't even have chocolate milk.
At the beginning of this all, the post office across the street from us somehow got a HUGE gaping hole in it from where a window was brutalized by the wind, which i heard was up to 75 miles an hour at one point.
That should have been our horrible omen to shut down lobby and just run drive-thru, but NOOOOOO... Instead we have a lobby line from one side of the store all the way to the other side about five people thick... and the line was constant.
Why I haven't quit yet I'm not sure...Why I didn't break down in tears yesterday is an even bigger mystery.
