Invisible hands stop the sands
Yet something untouchable flows through us
A feeling better left unsaid, buried until it rose again
In silence does it reside
Forever it seems to rot inside
My emotions take over in waves
Sour tears leak from beneath my doll-like face
Forever staining you with my fears
I’ve dared to show you my softer, broken side
Only to find out you’re the same
Both broken but not in pieces yet
My paper heart has bled
So many words left unsaid
Forever it seems that I have waited
In a sleep too sound not to be sedated
My heart drugged into a dreamless purgatory
The hope you promise, the happiness you ensure
A love that seems to bloom from in the dark prison that is my mind
To me, you seem all too kind
You are the bane I use to escape my dark world of pain and despair.
