I've noticed -and have been receiving countless PMs questioning this- that what's been pissing off Users is how ignorant the staff behind the scenes are being when it comes to all the bugs and technical problems we're all seeming to have and complain about.
A couple of updates on non/progress is all we ask.
I implore those of you who give a rat's a** about what your account possesses to go to the View Page Source tab on the Sign-in page. There, at the beginning of the document that comes up for you, is some information on Gaia -that of which gets updated casually- that you wouldn't be able to find out about anywhere else on the site. Not only that, but it's a -very- good way to tell whether or not it's a hacker page just looking for your password.
In addition to this, the "Item Normalization" jig is particularly the main cause for all the screw ups. The reasoning behind this?

Operations just swapped over to a database server that was supposed to be an exact data replica of the current live db for items. This was supposed to be a perfectly smooth transition, but somewhere along the line, replication broke, which caused data inconsistency.
We have swapped back over to the known working database and had to roll back about ten minutes worth of data. This is a major problem because we store vend information, bank trades, etc on a different database, which didn't roll back.
I am going to perfectly honest in saying the scale of this might be beyond our ability to correct and you may have permanently lost items. I'm very sorry.
