One evening, an angel arrived in the middle of certain village, the creature was beautiful and wise, and soon everybody loved it. With its presence the village became one of the happiest places on the whole Earth. But one day, the angel disappeared and the people thought it had returned to the heavens above.
Several years later, a series of murders alarmed the village. The police had a harsh time trying to get the killer, who happened to be a university teacher gone mad. However, the interesting part here was that during the investigation the detectives checked the garden of certain old lady after a dog unburied a bone from there. The bone was a piece of the angel’s corpse. It never left the village. The old lady, then a young girl, killed it and buried it at night, covering the spot with flowers.
When the old lady was asked about her motivations, she confessed that enchanted by the angel's beautiful visage, she seduced it. It wasn't easy, but in the end she got what she wanted. The angel's love was bliss. Its touch was so warm, and soft, and yet reassuring. Pure and exciting at the same time. So sacred. So perfect.
The girl woke up one day, still embraced by the angel, and seeing at its beautiful face she understood that she had sinned because such a perfect thing didn't belong to human hands, thus she cried in repentance and prayed for forgiveness.
Then the Lord inspired her.
The knife ripped the soft flesh of the angel, so that nobody else would touch it again, or hear it again, or see it again, because it belonged only to heaven and believing otherwise was heresy.
The old lady was convicted for this harrowing crime, tortured for months, and finally executed. Her body was left to be devoured by the beasts and her name became a synonym of sinner and killer.
The angel, however, died with a secret. It didn't belong to heaven, at least not since the Rebellion that cost it to become one of the fallen. Full of pain, it found in the beauty of the girl the perfect way to commit suicide... without anyone ever knowing.
There was only one true victim in the whole story, and the morale is: Beware of angels, young one; beware of that that seems pure and perfect.
