Hello all! I am writing this from Ruben's house, where I have been for three days now. I am in nirvana, I swear. I'm so happy! Anyway, I wanted to write down today's occurances in detail so I won't forget and can share with everyone! ^^
It started at about 6:30, when I woke up from a very strange dream about this chick going blind and me blaming myself and then this guy was trying to kill us and Ruben was sort of standing up for us and sort of not... and then we were at this hotel/salon place and this guy molested me. I was disturbed when I woke up. Anyway, I woke up and didn't do much, just laid there for a long time, still tired, then brushed my teeth and went to Ruben's room. We cuddled for a bit, and then did some other stuff, etcetera, bla, bla, and bla, and then his mom woke up. So I went took a shower and then she straightened my hair while we watched Myth Busters... Ruben fell asleep, it took a really long time.
Anyway, once my hair was straight, Ruben and I went to get dressed for our date. He wore this really cool white shirt with black dragons on it, dressy but still definitive, with a pair of nice jeans and I wore a denim, knee-length skirt and a red, sleeveless blouse. I wore flip-flops, he wore black sneakers. The drive was about fifteen minutes, not that long, but nice. I held his hand when I could, his skin is so soft, it's unbelievable. Every time he touches me my heart gets all funny.
We ate at a restaurant called El Zipperle, a really fancy Spanish restaurant. The restaurant was amazing. It was nearly empty, and the waiters were unbelievably friendly and courteous. Ruben ordered for us, and we shared a sopa de plantano, or plantain soup. I made him sit next to me for that part, because I could see that having the bowl in the middle of the table was going to cause a spill. After the soup, we had some stuffed chicken breasts, glazed with something incredibly yummy with a side of mixed vegetables and some potato based something or another, which was also delicious. The table came with garlic toast and coleslaw (which I was surprised to find in PR) and Ruben and I couldn't finish all of our food. We were so full that we turned down desert. All together, with the soup and two dishes, the bill came out to about $50 before the tip. We had water, since we were too young for wine and soda just wasn't right for the food we were having.
During lunch, Ruben and I talked a lot, about our childhood karate/tai-kwon-do (sp) lessons, about Greek and Norse mythology, about the food, about each other, and eventually about how well you could see my veins through the nearly-transparent skin on my wrists. He played with a tendon there for a bit, poking at it and making my fingers curl, and ten told me to hold my arm like that and close my eyes. When he said I could open them, he had put into my hand an exact replica of Bella's bracelet from Eclipse, something I had begged him for for Christmas and he had surprised me with now. I was so happy for the rest of the date. I couldn't stop smiling.
After lunch, we went to the car to go to our next destination. We got lost a couple times on the way there, but fortunately he has this GPS system that talks to you and gives you instructions on how to get where you're going and changes as you change routes and is really high tech and a lifesaver. We finally did get to part two, and eventually found a parking place. That was an adventure in and of itself. San Juan is really pretty, and I loved looking out and seeing the sites. Once we had parked the car, we walked hand in hand along the streets, him pointing out various wedding locations that he's been to, telling me what certain buildings are, and me looking into the windows of shops along the streets. One of them was called Condom World. Enough said. The walk finished when we reached our destination, Ventana del Mar (Window to the Sea, it was a beautiful beach that he had photographed for me over a year ago while doing a wedding there), I was breathless. It was a cloudy day, raining a little, the waves crashing against the rocks, hardly anyone else there, the wind blowing my hair, his eyes all dark and beautiful against the gray background of the sky... I was swooning. We walked along a boardwalk for a while, then sat there and watched the waves. I wanted to get in the water, though, so we walked over to the beach and put our feet in the waves... and then our ankles... as each wave came up, our clothes got wetter and wetter, it was the most fun I've had in a long time. I was so in love then, with both him and the ocean, and they sort of combined together to make me absolutely euphoric. I was already swooning a little, and the waves kept trying to carry me away... it was disorienting but amazing. When he had had enough of trying to stay afloat, we walked along the streets again. He bought us a Mocha Frapatino from Starbucks (AKA, Heaven Through a Straw) and we shared it. He kept breathing down my neck while the ice cooled his breath, and it felt like he was a vampire... I'm sure you can all imagine how I reacted to that. When we had finished our coffee, we walked back to his car and came home.
Later tonight we're going to Plaza Del Sol, where I intend to buy him Cold Stone ice cream and introduce him to heaven in a bowl.
This has been among the best days of my life. I'm so happy!!
Love you all, Mags
By the way, here's the link to the bracelet that he bought me: http://twilightteez.com/product_info.php?products_id=48
It was so small, I thought it was a baby bracelet, and he was surprised by the size too. But we had already measured my wrist, and, of course, it fit perfectly... I ish small... HA... I wish... anyway... yeah... um... bye then...
