Together
It was a calm Autumn day. The atmosphere in the air was that of a normal one. The area around Tikal seemed to glow with radiance. The little 14 year old was sitting on a bench waiting for her friend, Ren Kazuko. Ren owed her a treat to a restaurant since he lost to a bet against her.
“Mou. I’m such a baka. I came thirty minutes early…”
Tikal swang her legs childishly listening to her mp3 player. The current song playing was For Fruits Basket by Ritsuko Okazaki.
‘I was so happy, you we’re laughing with a smile that melts everything away.’
Tikaru thought about the first time that she meet Ren. She was looking for a job and went into a very cute café called ‘Oishi Café’. It was barely opening time when she waltzed in there curious. She didn’t know it wasn’t open yet and went over to the kitchen. As she was going in a guy was coming out with a handful of plates. As predicted they both crashed together with everything tumbling to the floor, including the plates.
“WHAT THE HELL?! WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!” a black haired man screamed at Tikal with such rage.
Tikal looked at the guy with shock , mouth open, and nearly tears in her eyes. The guy blinked and started bowing his uber apologies.
“Gomenasai, gomenasai, gomenasai, gomenasai. I don’t know what got into me. Are you okay mi—“
“REN!!! IS THAT YOU!? WHATS THAT NOISE!?”
From the side of the building came down a brown haired guy with a pair of very pretty blue eyes.
When that guy saw the mess he started going on a screaming rampage. Tikal and the other guy were standing beside each other with hung heads as he lectured the two. After his rage he looked at Tikal and said,
“Wait, who are you?”
Tikal and Zha, as the guy introduced himself, agreed that she was able to work at the Oishi Café till she can pay off the plates. When her first day of work was done at the front door was the same back haired guy known as Ren Kazuko. He offered to walk her home as apology for being so rude to her. From that moment forward she would see that guy more often and they would so a lot of stuff together.
One month later they were walking at the park when Tikal asked him,
“Ren-kun. What makes Ren-kun happy?”
Kazuko looked at her with such curiosity. With a heartwarming smile and mimicking Tikal’s childish talk he answered, “What makes Ren happy? Well. Being with Tikal-chan makes Ren happy!”
Her eyes widened, face burning red, and her heart sped so fast that not even a cheetah would be able to catch up. From that moment on Ren Kazuko became the most important person to Tikal.

“Tikal~!” yelled a familiar voice.
The neko-like human was reverted back to the present . She opened her eyes and caught the eyes of the person who had called out her name.
“Ren! Your late nya its been 30 minutes and 10 seconds nya!”
“Sorry but I’m not perfect.” He said running ahead of her winking and sticking his tounge out.
Tikal ran after him, “Baka nya!”
‘I understand the meaning of our living here. It’s to know the joy of having been born. Let’s stay together always.’
As the two walked the closer their bodies came together. So close that their arms were brushing against each other. Timidly Ren lifted his hand to embrace hers. At that moment the spaces between their fingers were not empty anymore.
