The thoughts that float in my head.
Random poems, pieces of stories, and random thoughts that pop into my head.
As I am I will Stay
For who I am must never change
Always I will know this Truth
This change in me is nothing new.

She stood before the glass, hoping it was thicker than it appeared. The entire room was filled with a deep blue light. She stared at the shark on the other side of the glass, and the shark stared back, with a hungry gaze. Swimming back and forth, as if hoping the glass would vanish.
This was her final test. She had to remember the verse while standing before the hypnotic shark.
"How are you doing?" The man stood behind her and spoke with a peaceful tone. She did not answer but repeated the verse. "Why do you bother?" He continued "I will win."
She felt him step closer. His warm breath was warm at the back of her neck. She would not let his charms distract her. She repeated the verse, but slower this time. It seemed as if each time she spoke it was harder to remember the following words. He reached his arms out on either side of her, his head over her shoulder. His hands moved side to side, imitating the mesmerising movements of water.
He would never touch her, only stand close enough to tempt. He was trying to charm her into giving in. He was infatuated with her, and she could not help but long for him to touch her skin. Just once. "As I am...I will...I will..." The words were slipping from her mind like the tide. He acted sympathetic. "Can you not remember? It's OK, just give up and this will all be over."
"I will Stay. For who I am will never change." If she spoke anything but the verse the glass would crack and she would fail.
He pulled his hands back and placed them on her shoulders. She froze, the words caught in her throat. She never knew if he could be trusted, but she felt passion for him despite this. She only fought for her friends. She was their last hope. They had failed the tests where she had passed and she had struck a deal. They could go free if she passed this test, it was not clear if she would however.
The shark was staring directly at her now. His voice was in her ear, "You've no power here. You will fail."
She closed her eyes, "Always I will know this truth."
He spun her around forcefully, and kissed her hard on the mouth. She felt a surge flow through her. When he pulled back he looked, searching, into her eyes.
"This change in me is nothing new."
Infuriated in his failed attempts to distract her he turned and stormed out of the room.
She turned back to the giant tank and rested her forehead on the cool glass.
"As I am I will stay."
