YAY!!
I'm going to be most-likely in the Miss Indiana Jr. Teen Pageant. For the people out there who don't know what that is, well it is a pageant for girls ages 13 - 15. It isn't a normal beauty pageant because instead of focusing all on your looks it focuses on how you present yourself in society. I am so excited but at the same time I'm so nervous.
The pageant is judged on these categories:
Formal Wear - This is where you simply walk on stage wearing a prom dress or other fancy expensive dress and you are escorted by a guy that you get to pick. It is 30% of your total score.
Personal Introduction - This is where you go on stage in front of everyone in a business suit or dress and tell them where you are from, who you are, and what you plan to do with your life when you get older. It is also worth 30% of your final score.
Interview - Now comes the most important (to me anyway) the Interview. This is where you are in a room with one judge and they ask you questions. You rotate from room to room until you have met with ALL the judges, no matter how long it takes. How much more nerve-wracking can you get?? This is also worth 30% of your total score.
Community Involvement - This is the simplest part of the competition. All you have to do here is just donate a new children's book or a stuff animal to a charity. Simply, huh? This is only worth 10% of your total score but who knows, this last 10% could and very well might be the thing that decides it all.
The competition is in July around Independence Day weekend. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention what you get if you win.
You get:
One Thousand dollars in cash
Official state crown, banner trophy
and roses
Entry fee's paid for the
