Snot Icicles and other Ideas about Cold Weather
An interesting about cold weather, it seems like it just forces your nose to run once you've been outside for at least 10-15 min. Or at least that's what happens to me. The bad thing about that, aside from having a runny nose and no tissue, is that in below 10 degree F temperature any liquidy substance turns into ice. So you end up walking down the street with a runny nose and little icicles made of snot in your nose. That is most uncomfortable because when you sniff in to keep the watery snot from running onto your upper lip, you're also inhaling little tiny hard icicles. It does not feel good at all.
My other thought about cold weather is that old people should never live in an area where ice forms on the ground. They should all move south for the winter, like birds, if they can help it. It is way too dangerous for the fragile elderly folk to be walking on ice even if dirt and salt is thrown on it. It's practically too dangerous for young people to be walking on it. I'm so terrified for old people walking on the icy streets because I'm scared they're going to fall and break a bone or a few. If my grandmother, or some elderly person I loved dearly lived up here, I would try and make enough money to make sure they could go somewhere warm, or at least where there's no ice on the street to live for winter.
