Hi, sorry to bother you again, but I need to know....how do you creat names in japanese?? or at least find meaning in a name?

haha im not completley sure what ur saying, and if it'd what im thinking then its not within my power. there is no way you can tell the meaning of a name without knowing what it means in japanese. man, im confusing. but, i didnt really understand ur question.

well creating names, sure u can make up a japanese name, but theres no garuentee ull know the meaning of it. just like our names. my name is nicole, and for some reason it means 'victor' but it is not used in a sentance subsituting for the word victir. no one says 'the larger animal was the 'nicole' of the battle.' its probably the same with japanese names. not all names mean something. but there are names that do mean something. like theres some famous chick named 'purple' in japan. which is murasaki.

sorry i know i didnt help. in short, the answer to ur question for the most part is "i dont know."

and dont worry abour "bothing" me. ur not bothering me at all.

Ok...well...you still might not know, but let me try to clear up my question. Hiei, from the show Yu Yu Hakusho, his name means Flying shadow if you take it apart (what that means, I don't know. someone tld me that) So I looked up Hi and Ei. Hi means fire, and there wasn't really anything for Ei....so where does Flying Shadow come in??? I'm asking how that works out. If you know. And also, If I wanted to make a name, like Fire Bird (dorky, yes...but I know those words xp ) those would be Hi and Tori. Can I put them together, Hitori, and call it a name??

ok......looking back that wasn't much clearer, but whatever...... whee

actually it was clearer, and i do think u canmake names like that. i bet if u called someone hitori, ud be calling them fire bird. that is a cool name. but i do think u can do that, so go ahead.

*whispers* sorry im not very informational, i am not fluent, and have not lived in japan, mind you, so thats why im not that helpful.

hey! You are the only person I know that knows more than a bunch of random words and phrases! It may not be the most informal thing ever, but to say that what you tell me isn't helpful wouldn't be right! Something sorta is better than nothing at all!! and...you know...all that encouraging stuffs xp And how DO you know this stuff??

ive been taking japanese since the 6th grade. we spend all our time learning the hard stuff that is hard to explain, and random words. haha. but ive been passing with almost a 100% so all she's taught, i know. so im glad i get to help a little.

do you know any generally helpful tips?

very general: remember when making a sentance, put the subject first, and then the action very last.

example: (what we would say) i like to run in the rain.
(what they would literally say) i rain run like to.
weird, huh. like is indeed a verb, by the way.

iT is?? WHoa....since when? xp

ill take that as scarcasm. haha.
