An Abbreviated Tale of Life and Lies, Mostly Lies.
A completely accurate and consistently updated log of my life as it unfolds.
The Real World and Why it Would Never be Published
The problem with life is the lack of narative structure. We come into it and it's all fairly exciting, there's blood and screams and everything's strange and unusual but after that it all goes down hill. There's no clean cut emotions, little character development and usually no climax.
We long for substantiality, we long for things to go the way they're supposed to. To follow the frameworks we are programmed to think in. We should stand up for what we believe in, change the world, not trundle away day after day living the same uneventful, mundane life, achieving nothing. Friendships shouldn't taper away, they shouldn't fade and dwindel, they should last forever or end with explosions, betrayals and duels to the death. If god exists he is a poor writer. Where are the metaphors? Where is the symbolism? What is the theme? Life is poorly crafted and would never be published.
Just as well I'm a fictional character and what experiences I have had with the real world were thoughtfully structured and tended towards the surreal. I am an echo of my unhappy writer, a fictional reflection of him that dwells only within his disturbed mind and these digital pages. It makes me smile. It makes me sad for you.
