A Bank Robbery and Four Deaths:

Detective Joe Miller walked onto the scene of the crime. He said slowly and quietly “Why would Brian a man on top of the world commit suicide.” Joe slowly paced up and down the halls going in and out of rooms thinking of what Brian was saying yesterday. His partner and lab worker Mary Magllion walked in saying “don’t blame yourself” interrupting Joe’s memory of yesterday. Joe quickly said to Mary “I was speaking to him yesterday… Brian and I were grabbing breakfast when Brian pulled me to the side and said “Joe I am in real trouble” not knowing what he was talking about he said “It can’t be that bad Brian just go home, relax, and get a good nights sleep I have to go so I will see you tomorrow.” This morning when he ate breakfast alone he was wondering what Brian was doing so he decide to come to his house and he saw through the window Brian in his chair slumped over holding an empty vile of poison. Mary started to walk away, at the door she said “Joe I know you and Brian were the best of friends so take your time just come to the lab when you are ready.” He nodded then she and every one else left but me. When they were finally out of view he heard a loud thud then the door at the end of the hall flew open and for a second he could of swore he saw Paul Delon who died about two months ago. He slowly walked down the hallways and entered Brian’s old room.
Once inside he slowly walked over to a chair and sat down thinking about what happened when all of a sudden a marker lifted into the air and wrote something on the mirror he unwillingly read what was written and it said “OPEN THE CLOSET!” he recognized the writing it was Tom Koulon`s, but Joe knew that Tom has been dead for six months. Joe scarcely opened the closet door when bags of money and a noted fell out he picked up the note and started to read “Dear Joe I trust that my friends showed you to this closet so we will see you soon.” Joe swallowed hard and said “see you soon, friends?” when he said that word four ghosts appeared they were Dan Lakue who died one month ago , Paul Delon who died two months ago, Tom Koulon who died six months ago and finally Brian Kinko who died early this morning. Joe quickly jumped up and then said “Who are you and how did you get in here!” Brian hovered slowly towards him and said “Joe you know who we are and we are here to tell you that something is not as it seems but we can not say what but we will help you figure it out.” Joe said “you can’t be who I think you guys are because all of you are dead. Brian smiled and said “Joe haven’t you ever heard of Ghosts?” Joe coming to reality said “I need proof that you guys are you and I am not crazy.” Brian smiled like he used to when he had an idea he walked straight towards him, then into him, and then made him open the window which they flew out and Joe was screaming because Brian knew of his fear of heights then they landed back inside. Joe finally accepted that they were real and said “why do you have to help why don’t you just say what it is” Dan jumped in and said “Because we can talk, touch, and help you understand something but we can’t do anything that would interfere with in your world.” He finally accepted that fact and said well where should I go first. Brian said “how about we walk out back.” They all walked outback and he asked them a few questions like what was it like when they died, where they live, you know what anyone who was wondering about life after death would ask. When they reached the back yard he thought that something was wrong so they walked all over the yard but when Joe tripped over something he picked it up it was a drill which was odd because Brian always said “drills are a waste of forty five dollars”
Brian smiled and said “ Joe you found clue number one now me and the rest of the guys have to go but if you need us just press this” Brian then handed Joe a pager with only one button which said help. They then walked away then in a bright flash of light they were gone.
Joe walked over to the lake which was right past Brian’s backyard fence. He sat down on the little bench they built because Joe and his friends love to fish together. Joe was thinking about all the good times they had when all of a sudden something felt wrong he looked around him and saw everyone of the ghosts behind him then Brian said “Joe how about we all fish for old time’s sake.” Joe responded “I thought that you Guys had to leave.” Dan said “yea but we haven’t fished for a year and we got some more time to… um… well … kill. Brian then said “I have to show you something it may be kind of rough on you but you need to see it.” Joe said it can’t be that bad so show me.” Brian said “ok you are about to see what happened the day I died.” Brian then walked into Joe and started showing him what happened. It started when he walked inside of his house and going to the kitchen then from behind a hand covered his mouth and nose with a rag soaked in poison then total darkness then he came back and was terrified at what he saw. He decided to go back to the lab to show the drill to Mary.
He arrived at the lab around 10:00 pm with the drill. He walked through the entire lab until he reached Mary who was busy writing on the computer. He handed her the drill and said “I found it outside the back window along with four screws hidden in a bush.” She turned pale in the face and put the drill away saying “I will look at it as soon as I can Joe.” Joe looked suspicious but then turned around and started to talk to Dan. Mary who can not see Dan or any other ghost look weird at Joe then wrote something down on a pad. When Joe finished speaking Mary had already left the office leavening Joe alone. Paul popped in and said “Hi we have to go to the dinner to talk.” Once at the dinner Joe saw they other ghosts already sitting at our usual table then Joe and Paul sat down and started to talk about why those bags of money were in Brian closet. That’s when they had to tell Joe the truth. Brian slowly said “Dan all of that money is from a bank robbery that the four of us committed we needed the money or else we would all go broke and they would take away our house and everything else we have.” Joe swalloed hard and tried to understand but deep down he felt that it was wrong. Joe said “Brian if you guys were in money trouble you guys know that you can always come to me.” The ghosts looked at each other and said “Joe we know that you would always help but the money that we need is far greater then you had about $500,000.00 it was a last resort and we felt terrible about doing it but we had to Joe we had to.” Joe realizing that they had no other option started to switch the subject to the murders. Brian said “we can not influence you and the choices you make there are though things that we can say you might want to check like oh I don’t know the crime lab and oh I don’t know how about the old pond.” Joe replied “maybe the crime lab would be good to see what Mary is up to.”
They all arrived at the lab around twelve am. As usual Mary and Anthony were there working hard as ever Anthony is another detective who sometimes works with Joe. When Joe walked in the ghosts did not follow they told Joe that they had to go but will see him soon not thinking much of it Joe said good bye. Once he was near Mary he said “How is that drill inspection coming along?” Mary replied “Sorry Joe I just didn’t get to it yet.” Felling disappointed he went back to his desk sitting down thinking. Joe noticed that Mary’s laptop was open so he went to close but what he found shocked him it was a Swiss Bank Account that was used for transporting large amounts of money. Joe knew Mary was not rich or had a lot of money because she struggles to get through a week without borrowing money from him. It was also weird that she had a ticket to Europe when she cant afford it but it didn’t bother him that much but he still thought something was out of place.
The next day Joe went to look around the old pond but every time he went to one specific area he felt something was out of place or something has been added and then he saw it a loose board in the bench that was weird because the way they built it was in layers so if need be they can replace boards but by the look of that board it was loose for about 4 days so Joe went over to see it. He pulled up the loose board like a piece of paper then to his surprise he saw a pair of black leather gloves and a rag stained with apparently water or a water like substance. He pressed the Help button on his pager and Brian appeared saying “What do you need help with?” Joe said “I found this does it mean anything to you?” Brian slowly replied “Yes… they were used to kill me the rag is stained with poison and the gloves covered her hands.” Joe gave Brian a smirk and said “Her hands.” Brian`s face turned pale even for a ghost and Brian replied “Whoops you weren’t supposed to hear that.” Joe wrote down on his note pad what he learned and said to Brian “Well then I have five things a drill, a pair of leather gloves, a rag with poison stains, a empty vile of poison and a gender. I will go to the crime lab to have these new items analyzed. Joe returned to the lab and handed the items to Mary then Mary said “Joe I have not got to the drill yet but I will send the gloves and poison with the drill down to the scientists.” Joe noticed something strange Mary always handled everything at once even if it was a large matter. Joe started thinking then asked her some questions Joe said “Mary why are you going to Europe?” Mary replied “I don’t know what you are talking about I am not going to Europe.” Joe wrote down her response when all of a sudden Tom appeared next to Joe saying “Hi Joe I have a question you might want to ask her like where was she on the night of Brian’s death.” Joe responded to Tom in front of Mary and everyone who was there they all thought that was weird. Then Brian showed up and started yelling at Tom for influencing Joe’s decision. After Joe asked that question and Mary responded “I was at a club out with my friends until 11:00 then I went to bed at a friend’s house.” Joe said “Thanks.” Then because Brian and Tom were still fighting Joe screamed “SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!!” Then Joe ran home and wrote in his note book all night.
Late at night Joe had a dream in that dream Joe was in a library surrounded by books which were flying off the shelves but some books opened up and words were highlight the words were : Mary Brian Murdered For and Money. Joe spent three days in his home office playing with those words cut off from humanity and friends all he focused on were the words then on Halloween night he broke the code it is: Mary Murdered Brian for Money. Joe had to figure out though what Mary it is that is when he called Brian for help. Brian appeared and said “Joe what can I help you with.” Joe said “I think I broke the code it is Mary murdered Brian for money but I don’t know what Mary there has to be at least four hundred people named Mary in the city.” Brian replied with the usual I can not interfere with something that important. Joe realized something every single one of those words fit with his partner Mary Magllion expect for two Brian and murder. Then he realized that when the bank robbery was committed Mary was sent out to investigate it but the case was qualified unsolved because there was no video of the suspects. At that moment Joe realized his partner planed to kill all of Joe’s friends to get the robbery money which she would put into the Swiss bank account from there she would travel to Europe where she would live out here life filthy rich. Joe immediately left to the crime lab to arrest Mary but when he arrived he saw something strange two men in white uniforms with the logo insane asylum for the mentally disturbed talking to Mary then Mary pointed to him as soon as he left the car. Joe then realized Mary knows that Joe knows she murdered his friends and called them in because he was speaking to them even though Joe really was. Joe walked towards Mary shouting “Mary I know you killed them for the money I know you killed them!” Joe was sent to a near by mental hospital for the mentally disturbed. Joe spent three months there and his friends still came by to talk to him. One day Brian came in and walked over to Joe and sat down next to him saying “ Joe it is time; I was sent to tell you your time on Earth is up so close your eyes and go towards the light don’t worry I will be there waiting for you.” Joe knew something was wrong long before this moment because his friends constantly asked him if he was felling ok, but he never knew. Joe took one last look at the room and the world before he closed his eyes and walked towards the light. That my friend was the end of our dear friend Joe.
