Adventures of the Vertically Challenged
Random adventures of a vertically challenged person in a height-oriented world.
Name: Ikamek-Tuor-Ilblize
Age: 65 (mid 30’s by species’ standards)
Gender: Male
Species: Ruh-Li
Height: 4’ 7”, Galactic standard, at the shoulder.
Weight: 200+, Galactic standard

Description:
Basic body type is that of a Troodon of the dinosaur variety.
Slender, long, graceful—in limb and body. Hands have developed a higher 3rd finger than in picture. Acts more or less as opposable thumb. Scale pattern is mottled green and brown—similar to the color patterns found on “cammo” gear of today. All patterns fade to a paler color on the throat and underbelly. Darker bands wrap around the legs and last half of the tail.

Across the body are tattoos—all in reds, oranges and yellows, all in geometric symbols and shapes. The most prominent is in red over the hip, one on each side. Yellow markings, in the shape of “scars” dot back, neck, and upper legs. In orange is another making an inkblot pattern across the snout.

The eyes are large, and gold in color. Their pupils are slit, like a cat’s eye.

Clothing:
None

Personality:
Tends to be more aggressive than passive. He will react badly to a precieved insult, unless the matter is explained, or apologized for. When he focuses on something, it has his entire attention, and often needs outside stimuli to “wake him up”. Also, is fairly snappish towards those who he feels are his inferiors. He will be humble and subservient to superiors, and retain his usual terse and eccentric personality with those he considers equals. Ikamek-Tuor is entirely unaware of most of this, as it can be considered instinctual. He is not interested in mates, or developing very close friendships, although they do tend to creep up on him—and when that happens, he tends to accept the inevitable. He lives very much in the present and future, like most of his species, and it takes a very extreme event to make him remember the past with much more emotional attachment than the average person recalls the sandwich they had last Tuesday. Aside from this, he regards his work with a very calm, cool perspective.

Occupation/Class:
Computer Programmer, overseer of major computer operations.

Accessories:
Wires implanted into the base of the skull, which extend out through nodes implanted in the skin, attaching when not in use to a nylon collar situated at the top of the neck. Two of these wires exist on the left and right side of the head. Both pairs dock into the collar.

A harness of sorts, consisting of more nylon straps around the abdomen. Between them hangs a variety of bags—ranging from backpack, to coinpurse sized. Not all are worn at once. In these bags are what most humanoids carry in their pockets—ID card, keycards, computer, coins, paperclips… various odds and ends one finds cluttering up ones pockets. As Ikamek-Tuor has no pockets, he uses these instead.

The last would be the caps covering the slashing claw on each foot. They keep the floors from scuffing, and Ikamek-Tuor from injuring anyone on accident.

Skills:
His ability to hack a computer from the inside-out is both unparalleled and an oddity within his society. However, he is surpassed by others from various species who have had access to the technology all their lives. He is a highly skilled programmer for the same reasons that make him an excellent hacker.

Aside from that, he is in good physical condition, and while not exceedingly strong, his body type is that of a runner, giving him speed and stamina, should he need it.

Weaknesses:
Reading humanoid body language, dealing with other species. Ikamek-Tuor honestly expects the others on the station to react as would members of his own species, and it quite puzzles him when they do not.

Technology—aside from computers—quite frankly defeats him. He has a hard time working even the simplest of tasks, such as operating elevators. His temper has a tendency to flare in these situations. His aggression is also one of his major faults, as it makes dealing with other races harder for him.

History:
Ikamek-Tuor was born into an Alpha family under the clan Mabesa (“Sun”), he was one of six brothers and sisters, and lead a fairly privileged life, until he reached adulthood. One of his brothers challenged his father for Alpha position, and won. Ikamek-Tuor and the remainder of his family were stripped of their rank and became Omega. Because of this, he has never taken a mate nor sired offspring. Tiring of this life, Ikamek-Tuor joined with a burgeoning company of Ruh-Li who had become interested with off-world travel. He was identified—due to a lack of any discernable head injury in his past—as a possible candidate for computer programming. The humans aiding the project did the implantation and began his training. Out of debt to those who showed him a new life, Ikamek-Tuor signed on for the Aeon project.
