More important to give than to receive...
Well, what did I learn today (in church that is)? I took down some notes during the sacrament (usually I do that since I forget things right away such as scriptural passages lol of course sometimes when I have a pen and paper in my hand I also end up doodling and stuff) and it always does help me. Anyhow here it goes (in point form):

-Do you love your neighbor? (love more than just like)
-Read John 14:15 "If ye love me keep my commandments." <--Scripture Mastery, people!!!! (ie: "Jesus wept." lol how simple)
-2 things to remember when attending church and why it is better than doing ONLINE attendance (ie: this speaker was talking about why some people don't think it's such a good idea to have an ONLINE.. um church lol it was funny because he thought it would be really convenient since we could just go into the computer and look for the lds website and then log in and tadaa! we have our attendance in church and so and just read about the talks and still be able to read our scriptures and yeah...)
-to develop a closer relationship with the Lord and with your neighbors
-Read Matt 5:43-48
-how much more important it is to give than to receive (VERY important)
-service
-seek to help others
-refer to Mosiah 2:17 "If ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are in the service of your God."
-forgive and forget
-Christ will forgive us no matter how many sins we've committed and as long as we repent, we will be forgiven and it will be forgotten
-Christ will continue to forgive us...
-Read John 15:13 <--my favorite scripture "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends."
And in Relief Society, we had a lesson on what we should remember when partaking of the Sacrament:
-2 important things to remember: by doing and remembering
(that sounds a bit vague but what it's telling you is this:
-Taking upon the name of Christ (authority of Christ)
-How? by baptism
-covenants
-Do Christ's acts (think about this: what would Christ do if He was in this/that particular situation?)
-become a member of Christ's church
-to be LIKE HIM
Sacrament Prayer
-"O God The Eternal Father"
-"We Ask Thee In the name of thy Son"
-Sanctify the bread
-key word here is: Remembrance
-by doing these things you are showing gratitude and love to Him

Well, that's about it. What we need to remember is that we are a child of God. I remember what Chris said about how (this Sunday School teacher released last last week and I found him to be a very spiritual kind of person, and it was not hard to tell; he was very sincere) easy it is to just forget those times in your life that made you feel happy and comforted or humbled (ie: godly sorrow). Once you walk out that door, out of the chapel, suddenly you are back to your usual state (I guess that happens to me a lot) and those things you've learned in class just went out the other ear. Gone. *sigh* But it's really important to remember. Yup.

I've never heard of holding church online. That's just like watching the service on the TV almost, and yea, defeats most of the purpose for church (fellowshipping with like-minded believers, support, etc.).

About walking out the doors, yea I think that pretty much happens in every church. Once you leave, the spiritual high is quick to leave you once you are back to your normal daily routines. It was especially acute after really special things like Discipleship Now (a weekend retreat where we stay in guest homes and have lessons and fun activities) and Camp Travis (after my church's name), which is basically a week at this pretty nice encampment. Every time I hear "fireside" for some reason it makes me visualize everyone around a campfire with the leader giving a lecture.

Oh yea, that verse "if ye love me keep my commandments." I recall hearing that alot in the Temple Square Visitor's Center (can't remember which one), where u go up the stairs into that big round room with a large mural of the galaxy and the big statue of Jesus with that tape recording that plays in a loop. That was one of my favorites.
