Phena Faier is a fifteen year old Egyptian. She was born in a little place called Bennu Village, hidden from the world by the sun. But her village is very different from the others. Her people are phoenixs. Her dad the Pharaoh, her mom the Malika, and Phena the Amira. (When she learned English, she didn’t like being called princess.) Also everyone’s energy depends on the sun, and at night when the moon is out everyone gets real tired. (Solar eclipses make them weak, and lunar eclipses make them stronger.) Her race can die then they are reborn from the ashes, but if they die twice within 24 hours, they're dead. The first death (within 24 hours) their hair, eyes, and skin turn to an ash color. Their skin begins to flake off ash, until they turn to a pile of ash, and are then reborn from the ashes. The second time, the body does not turn grey. All that is left is a cold corpse.

Phena has one thing that is different from everyone. She has Phoenix Kalab when she gets really angry, or after being reborn from the ashes, depending on the situation. Before Rage, she cries blood; it has her tears and her blood together. Her people call it Shams Sa'il. Water is her great weakness, when touched it burns her as if it were a fire to a human. So she cannot drink water, but everything else is just fine.
