I HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE 2% VENDING TAX. |

First off, it is essential to get rid of the tax, it will cause harm- the prices will (I'm guessing) raise instead of lower, because the vendors want to be compensated for that fee.
All right. Now, what Gaia needs to do is come out with MORE NEW NPC ITEMS, and often, in varying price ranges- many cheap, some expensive- this way, everyone (rich and poor) spends gold and the value of gold goes up. People could also have more quests for expensive, non-donation items. As an added bonus, people will enjoy having new things to try on. As long as the donation items are basically the only new things to look forward to each month, they will be what everyone buys, constantly in high demand- and the prices will continue to go up.
Next, in order to keep the marketplace from being bogged down by the multitude of new inexpensive items, the price that folks sell their items back to the NPCs needs to change. 50% will not cut it. If you could sell your small, useless, repeat daily chance items back to the system for 90% their buying price, wouldn't you gladly do so? I would, to get rid of them. I don't want them taking up space in my shop, sitting around stalely, for almost no or truly no profit- items will just hoard up from daily chance, waiting to be sold. They won't go away.
Now, I know it's difficult for the artists to constantly make new items for us, so I have a solution that I'm hoping is feasible. Instead of always creating new things, they could work on simply making already existing items in more colours. This cuts down on a lot of work it takes for new things- layering, how things fit over hair, positions, etc.
Those are my solutions for raising the value of gold by getting it back into the system, and thus lowering the prices of donation items. I'm guessing it would work. I think that it would make Gaians much more pleased than a 2% vending tax, to boot.
