I did a little dedication / Tribute to my sister at her graduation banquet.
I was schedueled to go up about half way through the dedications, but I was able to be there for that part. The first Girl's dedication was long (granted, she has been living a few hours away from her sister for the first time for a few months) the others were not nearly as long, but it was still nerve racking because I had to wait when I just wanted to get it over with. I was finally up, and I was introduced as her Father (by accedent, which was weird because I know the guy who was doing the introductions) then he corrected saying that I was her brother.
Being the Star Wars geek I am, I followed through with the accedental "father" thing and started my tribute with a Darth Vader impersonation "I am your father... well, actually I'm your brother." then I when into the tribute telling a little about her personality, her accomplishments, and some words of wisdom. I think I may have had one of the shortest tributes, but I've been told that it was good inspite it being short.
Youth Group was a little better then last week. the guys who were causing the trouble were a little better, they still caused trouble, but they were not as bad and hopefully they learned the leason about "rebellion" (which I think was schedueled before they caused trouble last time). I think they are starting to understand that they need to obey what we say.
