And here's the first part of the tut:
We will be using this skin palette:
Find a scan. I'll be using this one: http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/17/
Go ahead and crop it and do any adjustments you need to.
Here's my results after adjustments.
Add another layer underneath it and set the manga layer to multiply. Fill the bottom layer with 838383 or something close to that. Add a transparent layer over the bottom layer and fill in the flat skin colors with the second color from the top on the palette. Fill it in pretty sloppy so you don't miss any areas.
After the flats are fully and sloppily filled in, put on the transparency lock.
Set your airbrush to 10% opacity and make sure you have a variety of brush sizes on hand. Start shading and re-click frequently. Just keep going down the palette, but stop at the seventh color.
Go crazy with the first shading color, and leave room for the rest.
Then add some finishing touches like highlights on the nose and cheeks.
The 7th color is for blushes and the base color for the lips. The next color is for the lips shading, then highlights.
