One month before the group’s debut, a final member was added. Park Yoochun (박유천) lived in the Fairfax, Virginia for roughly four years and auditioned for Brothers Entertainment and was sent to Korea to SM Entertainment. Micky was Park's English nickname when he lived in Virginia. As the winner of a talent show, he was granted the opportunity to sign with SM Entertainment in Korea. He now performs under the stage name Micky Yoochun (믹키유천).
Micky is one of my favorite members (along with Yunho) ^^. I really like the way he sings, he does it with so much passion. He is a great dancer and a good actor. All the members agreed that he is the most sentimental of the group. I love the way he express himself. He loves to write music, he does it everyday no matter the time. Also he is very proud of the way he plays the piano because he learned by himself. I love you Micky Yoochun!!! He is sooo HOT!! And he looks so cute when he has his glasses on. Interview
Blood Type: O
What do you do before sleeping? : “Listen to a song I composed more than the times.”
What do you wish for? : “Vacation.”
How did you decide to be a singer? : “Well, rather than specific reason, it’d been always there on my mind. I often have auditions and it’s embarrassing before the auditon, but once I get on the stage where they ask me to show what I’ve got, I do everything I can do without any second thoughts, even though I am so nervous inside. And then I come down and say ‘Why did I do that…’ I guess, rather than having special chances it’d been just in my heart. So it happened naturally and I was lucky in some ways.”
What the music means to you? : “It’s like a sort of a friend, like a family, like a lover, like a close person I know, something like that… Music has made me. Music was there when I was happy. Music was there when I was sad. I was motivated to do better because music was there. Everything’s like that. There’s never and an end. The more you know about music the more attraction you discover.”
Writing music? : “The days are too short for me. There’s only 24 hours in a day. After our daily schedules over and when we’re back home, it’s usually around 2-3 am. When we get ready to sleep, it’s around 2:30-3:30 am. But I do my composition work everyday. I write songs without missing a day. If I should wake up at 10, I stay up working until 9 o’clock almost everyday. It’s really hard. There’s no end for that. But that’s what I like about it.”
Live performances? : “I have phobia against live concerts. I’ve had it since we released ‘Hug’. It goes well while practicing off stage, but once we get on a stage my heart shrivels up. I can’t do what I should do and my throat just seems to clog up. I had that phobia since on time I was singing ‘Hug’. While I was singing it I made a mistake once. Ever since that I had a thing about live concerts. I feel pressure and paranoid. My heart’s beating so hard every time. So before every live performance I pray that I can do well today.”
Cassiopeia? : “Though we’re tired after staying up for 3, 4 days, once we go on a stage we’re all recharge. Our members always say this… The reason for our recharging is ‘Cassiopeia’ fans. That recharge can’t be done by eating nor can it be filled by sleeping. It’s what you feel in your heart that enables you to overcome yourself. It’s that kind of recharge. It’s hard to say in words. It’s very valuable to me.”
What looks beautiful? : “Although I’m softhearted myself, I don’t like it when people cry. Ever since I was young I wouldn’t look at a crying person. I had no ‘What’s wrong?’ kind of thing. But when the ‘Cassiopeia’ fans show tears it looks most beautiful to me. It’s purity itself. I think that is what looks beautiful to me. They look like angels.”
Best present? : “I one got this bunch of CDs. I couldn’t even count how many. On every single CD, there was a Micky sticker. Each of them was all numbered with a fan’s name and short messages. They were my most memorable and thankful presents. A single person can’t do it. Many fans should put them together. I was really appreciative of that. What am I to get such a present? I listen to about 5 of them every day.”
Miss right? : “Miss Right… It’s someone who loves me just the way I am. That’s the first. Secondly accommodating ourselves to each other and trying to be each one’s Mr. and Miss right. That’s mi ideal, I believe.
Proposal? : “Although on the radio I said I’d have done like this or that I really want to do it ordinarily. Nothing special, showing just the way I am. If I propose I think I’ll do it to someone who’s had lots of memories with me and whom I’ll have met for a long time. So I’ll go to a place where we have lots of memories together and do it ordinarily.”
Last words: “I just want to say… We always say it on the radio, that trust is the most important and that we hope you trust us. I hope you don’t judge TVXQ! just by what you see from the outside and what you see on the press. We… have a lot to show from now on. Although I should say it short here, if I say everything I want to, I’ll have to write a book. I have a lot I want to talk about with. That’s the way it is. You get to know people as talking to them a lot but this thing call the media, it only gives you a limited view of us and you can’t just say ‘This is TVXQ!’ from that. Of course I… And the other members as well, we’re happy to have this opportunity. We are working very hard. I hope everyone gets to know that. We’re going to try harder and harder, so please love us, TVXQ! And trust us for real to the end.”
