Hello friends!

Here in my log, I'll be going through the events that I find interesting/exciting, or just plain random! This will be updated whenever possible!
So come along with me on my trip to FLORIDA!
Whoopie!

Aug. 3

Alright. First day is always the worst. We wake up SUPER early to get an ENTIRE days worth of driving. We had to reach Colby Kansas by the end of the day, or sleep in our car somewhere; let's put it that way.

So, I'm sure you wanna hear the exciting stuff. Not things like: We drove and drove and drove and drove...ect. You want exciting? Well, I had one, ODD day that day.

We had lunch at Subway. This is where the 'fun' began. I ordered a cold-cut tuna sandwhich thinking it would be great, right? WRONG! MAN! I felt like I was going to puke for HOURS! And the olives! GACK! I usually LOVE olives, but there was DEFINITELY something WRONG here! Colorado olives: NO NO! ...Moving on.

Then we make a stop to a Best Buy...Oye... gonk THIS was FUN. I felt sick, I didn't want to go in, but against my will (and the incredible heat wave,) I went inside.

Whilst away from the loving protection of my parents, I stood out front by the videos waiting for life to go by...Then a helper man came up out of nowhere on an electric wheelchair.

"Can I help you find anything?" he says.

"No thanks, just browsing," I say.

Now here, I thought he'd say the classic 'alright, just let me know if you need anything' phrase...but he didn't move.

"...Havin' a good day?" he said.

"Oh! Yeah, I'm alright...You?" I say. I'm actually very polite in words, but I'm not the sweetest person in thought. I was wondering why he was sticking around.

"Ah...No," he said, "...I just broke up with my girlfriend."

I knew it. Remember that tuna sandwich? It was flipping loops in my stomach at this point.

"Oh! I'm...ah...sorry! That's too bad!" LOLZ! I fumble over my words alot when I talk! xp

"Yeah...She said I was too nice."

"...Oh..."

*Awkward silence*

"So, do you have a boyfriend?" he asks.

There goes my stomach again.

"Ah...YEAH! Well...We're just dating."

"A friend with options, huh?"

"...Sure..."

He went on to ask alot more questions and tell me what he likes in women, all in which he LOVES to use the word "a**" in front of alot of things; but I'm not going to post the details. In short, he was HITTING ON ME! O.O

Now, as flattering as it was, and NO I have NOTHING against people in wheelchairs. Heck! I think guys with wheels are cool! But THIS was ODD! SORRY! Not my type, I guess. I tend to lean towards guys with a sense of humor, and some personality. SHEESH! I sound shallow! DON'T thnk of me as a bad person, PLEASE! I actually LOVE people! xd

On top of this, we go to a rest stop, and there's a van full of chained up convicts parked next to our car...Yeah. Scary.

But, all in all, there was ONE big laugh: A road sign that said something to the affect of "YOU ARE NEAR A MENTAL FACILITY! DON'T PICK UP HITCH-HIKERS!" LOL! Fun stuff!

Aug. 4

Today wasn't HALF as interesting as yesterday, but it had it's moments.

There was some kid in front of a mattress store pushing a dummy dressed as a king strapped to a throne of sorts up and down the side walk. There was a sign on the crown that said "Honk if you love SOFA KING!" LOL! Say "Sofa King" 5 times fast! xp Ok, so it STILL doesn't make too much sense, but it was something unique.

We also saw a billboard that said something like "Jesus saves; porn destroys," then RIGHT behind it was an ADULT book/movie store. YEESH! LOL! xd

Hrmm...What else...AH! Well, you've heard of rest stops, you've heard of pit stops, but have you seen a McStop? LOL! That's right! The beautiful, golden, McDonald's "M" has it's very own rest stop. LOL! I've never liked Mickey-Dees, and this just goes to show you why.

Aug. 4

Rollin' rollin' rollin'...Just another day of driving. BUT we did see TWO interesting...uh...whatevers:

1. An orange, stuffed monkey strapped to a semi-truck step. O.o Wow...Interesting.

2. A HUGE fireworks factory right next to a gas station. MAN! That's a fire hazzard waiting to happen! LOL! Can you imagine?

Aug. 5

Alright! The last day of push-shove to get here! We made it! F-L-O-R-I-D-A! Yippie! 4laugh We got at the hotel late, so we crashed on the beds and got ready for the EXCITING day ahead!

Aug. 7

We got a great nights sleep, considering the fact we got to sleep in longer than usual, so we were all set to seize the day!

First stop, Animal Kingdom! This place was alright, but all-in-all, it wasn't the most exciting place in the world. To best describe it, I would say that it's something I'm glad I did, but I'm not sure if I'd go there again. It's a one time thing. Not TOO many exciting things to do. BUT, if they're ARE exciting things, they're worth it.

The BEST ride there HAS to be the Mount Everest Expedition! You climb into this HUGE replica of the Himilayas, then reach the end of the track a few feet ahead...Well, it looks that way...You're launched BACKWARDS down the mountain! AWESOME!!!

Other than that, the rest of the entertainment is shows. One we saw was Bugs Life: It's Tough to Be a Bug. This was a pretty cute 3D show with some little surprises to make it all the more fun!

Dinosaur was an indoor tram sort of ride which was kinda neat. Not too thrilling, but very well done! It's air-conditioned...That makes it all worth it.

The Festival of the Lion King was another show we saw! You wander into this circular room, and are seated in one of four sections. I was worried that this would be REALLY kiddie-widdie stuff, considering the setting, but was surprised when they rolled out a stage and four HUGE animatronic figures of Simba, Pumba, an Elephant, and a Giraffe! It's got music and fire dancing! I was impressed!

There was also a jungle safari which you could ride to see REAL animals in their open-air habitat. This was alright, but getting pictures in pretty tough, and, as expected, you can't garauntee seeing all the animals availible.

Ugh. We ALSO saw Finding Nemo: The Musical...Don't see it. If you value your sanity, and your original appreciation for the film, DON'T SEE IT! eek They puppetry was fine, and so were the affects, but the "Oh-so-wonderful" music they invented...HORRIFYING!

We left Animal Kingdom sooner than expected, seeing how there wasn't much more to do. Plus it looked like rain in the distance so we cleared out.

Aug. 8

Second park day, and we headed to the Magic Kingdom! This place is loaded with things to do, big and small. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain were the obvious hits, but that was only half of the entertainment.

Pirates of the Carribean is an obvious classic that we couldn't pass up. As you may know, it's been, I think, upgraded from it's original quality to add new features that go along with the motion pictures. I thought it was VERY well done! Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones and Captain Barbosa now appear in the ride, and make it twice as fun while maintaining it's original "magic." Jack is always amazing!

Tragedy struck us on our way to The Haunted Mansion; a ride I desperately wanted to ride...We discovered it was "temporarily closed"...UNTIL SEPTEMBER!!! ARGH! Be warned! That ride is DOWN until September for refurbishing!

We also would have LOVED to eat at Cinderella's Castle, but getting a slot in the eating schedual is rediculously hard to get! If you want to eat there, plan on MAKING YOUR RESERVATION 185 days to a YEAR IN ADVANCE!!! YIKES! People seriously make them THAT soon, so get your reservation made ASAP!

Well, those were the most exciting rides, but there were some pretty neat shows too!

The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor was a comedy show with Mike Wazowski as your host. It's a crowd involving, 3D show that was another surprising amusement! Sure! Go see it!

The Enchanted Tiki Room was short little show that's...all show. Cute, colorful, LOADED with animatronics, and musical. *Shrugs* It's alright.

Mickey's Philhar Magic was a VERY well done 3D adventure with Donald and Mickey! This was my favorite show! Not one you should miss!

Jungle Cruise was...Interesting. NO REAL ANIMALS, just animatronics. "Nice." That is all.

Stitch's Great Escape was another little walk-through sort of thing. Short and simple. There's VERY mild excitement for you there.

Ok, so those are the highlights we saw...Now it's time for things I'm SURE you DON'T want to see: Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Scary Adventure, and It's a Small World. Peter Pan's Flight had a disgustingly long line for a disgustingly short, low-quality ride that just has blue lights to make it "glow" everywhere. Snow White's thing was just as stupid, if not worse; and It's a Small World...Will scar you. Trust me. Leave these rides to the kids, along with MANY of the others. 3nodding Lot's of kiddie stuff to do in Disneyworld.

There you have it: Disneyworld. We had a good time, but were SORE AS H*** when we got back. LOTS of walking. LOTS of sweating, but worth it. ^^

Aug. 9

Being as extremely tired as we were, and STILL are, we decided to take it slow today. Epcot was our selection, and if you want slow and casual this is the place. EVERYTHING we rode was slow pace, or not high on thrill. The fastest thing there was probably the Test Track ride, but even that is something I consider "weak." I've ridden rides. I know these things.

Soarin' was actually pretty neat, but again slow and casual. It also made me feel a little queasy. That's one thing I have problems with...Nausea! I HATE dome theaters, or things close to them, CHEAP simulaters that lack G-force, and things that spin...ICK! Thankfully, this ride didn't have anything but the tiniest bit of nauseating feelings. ^^ It was cool!

Another disappointment: Spaceship Earth was closed...Dang it.

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience was a neat show too, but I thought the Bug's Life show at Animal Kingdom was better. *Shrugs* The wait was LONG too! A HUGE advertisement for Kodak!

I was looking foreward to seeing the Circle of Life show; seeing how I ADORE Lion King, but I was disappointed to discover that it was nothing short of a "tree hugger" announcement. Urrrgh...As much as I LOVE the environment...No. stare

A WEAK boat tour, that seemed to be going for the Pirates of the Carribean feel, was Living With the Land. It was creative, kinda neat, but was another "tree hugger" fling. There WERE some pretty interesting plants to see in their green house section (which has interesting ways of growing things), and the fish tanks were neat, but it wasn't too special.

Mission: SPACE was another ride sort of like Soarin'. It was more "contained" of course, and slightly interactive, but I think it was a bit over-rated. Everyone looks SO excited to ride it, and it sounds like an AWESOME ride, but I really didn't think too much of it. Oh well!

Other than the things above, we wandered "Around the World," at the World Showcase. We thought of grabbing food at every stop, but it was much too expensive and MUCH too hot to keep stopping. We were still sore from yesterday's excitement, and it was twice as hot out as it was yesterday, so we kind of breezed through. We did stop in Japan to eat our main meal; Germany to grab a pretsel and some chocolate, then Mexico to ride another boating shpeel...Thank heavens it had nothing to do with hugging trees.

Epcot, like Animal Kingdom, was cut short. It was hot and we were tired.

...THE REST...

LOL! As expected, I didn't get to get on for the last few days. Then, as soon as I got home, school started. That too was unexpected! I usually doesn't begin until the end of August, but they decided to move it closer to the start...Ugh.

To sum it up, we visited with my grandpa, uncle, and a friend of my Grampa. We went to MOSI, went out to eat every night, Lowry Park Zoo, and the pi es de resistance: Bush Gardens! Whoot! ANOTHER theme park! ^^ This trip was awesome.

Well, sorry I couldn't get all the juicy details. They'd be entirely inaccurate, seeing how my memory's already school-wiped... rolleyes Thanks for coming though! If you'd like to comment or question, I'd be happy to hear from you!
