Well let's ignore the friend comment, and all I can say is I sympathise with the love plight. Kristin's parents and I don't always get along because I'll not do something or do something that's really stupid to make a big deal out of, but they do anyway. As for college, I have my fair share of fears too. I'm not really responsible and totally not used to doing things on my own. When I'm afraid or unsure of something I like to not think about it or put it off for as long as I can, and college is one of the scariest things in my life.

*blink* Um . . . say . . . you're being insane. First of all . . . your parents are douche bags. Secondly, college does not require you to be super-student. For pete's sake, call schools and ask what they're average admittance GPA will be. Odds are it will be around 3.5. Besides colleges look a lot more at your overall transcript than your GPA (which isn't bad) . . . class rank, class difficulty, extracurricular activities, SAT scores, even any awards you've won. After that . . . college isn't hard to keep up in if you do your work. In fac,t I rarely read my stuff at pitt and still regularly make the deans list. If you actually read your material you'll do just as well, if not better than me. It's all about being careful and planning, not about being all super-smart. Chill out, seriously it's nothing to freak over. And . . . PITT IS AN AWESOME SCHOOL!!!!
