CHAPTER ONE; TIME TO GO....

On a hot day, long ago, there was a girl named Maria and her boyfriend named Mark. Mark had to go off to a unknow place soon. Maria Didnt want him to go.

"But why do you have to go? Why?" Maria asked while they where standing on the porch.

"I Have been asked." Mark said. "But dont worry, I'll be home tomorrow...."

"Well, okay." Mara said with her head down.

"Hey," Mark said. He rose her chin up so he could see her eyes. "I wanna give you something."

After he said that, He got to his pack, and got out a stuffed rabbit.

"Please keep it safe." He said. "its all i have of my mothers."

"I will." Maria said as she huged it.

"LETS GO!" A voice said out of a car.

"Well," Mark said. "I guess thins is good bye."

"I guess so....." Maria said

"LETS GO MARK! YOUR GONNA BE LATE!"

"Well, Good bye." Mark siaid

"Good Bye" Maria said.

"Oh, befor I leave." Mark said. "I must give you this" He walked up to Maria and Gave her a Kiss

CHAPET TWO; ROUGH TIME

Maria watched Mark go. Tears filled her eyes. The car door shut and the car drove off. Maris stood ther for about 10 minutes, then she slowly walked into the house.
"Oh well..." she said "at least its just a day."

But thats what she thought.

Meanwhile, Mark was stareing out the window at all the houses go by. He tried to stare at the sun and make himself half blind so he cound go back. but his eyes where used to the sun, and nothing hapened.

At least i'll be home tomorrow... he thought. He stared at the picture of Maria in his hands and sighed.
"hey.... Whats the matter with you?" Asked the driver.
"Oh, nothing, Lucas." Said Mark
"Hey, I told you...." Lucas paused. "I said it was only a day." just to get you to come.... its really 1 year!!
"yeah I guess your right....." Mark stared out the window some more, then at the picture.
"you'll miss her, wont you?" Lucas asked.
"yeah. I will." Mark said.

CHAPER 3; ONE DAY LATER
Maria had a hard time sleeping knowing that Mark was gone.
"If I can just sleep through the night, he'll be home early morning." She said to herself. She repeated the words she said in her head and drifted to sleep.

Early morning she woke up,
"He'll Be here!!" SHe yelled exitedly. She quickly got dressed in her best dress, fixed her hair, ate breakfast, and ran to the porch. she sat in the bench. she waited and waited and waited.
"Huh? whats going on? I thought he would be here!" she said.
"Are you talking about the army people?" a stange voice has said.
"who was that?" she looked around and saw a old man, he was wearing a white shirt with blue overals, his hair looked like he just got out of bed and his shoes where worn out."who are you?" She asked
"Name's Danny." the man said. "I was in the army long ago."
"Hi Danny." Maria Began, "My Boyfriend said he'll be home today. Early morning. thats now, why isnt he here?"
"What assinment did he go on?" Danny asked.
"he went on f22 8."
"Ah.." Danny paused.
"what?"
"Little girl, Im afraid to say this."
"Say what?" Maria jumped up eyes burning mad. "TELL ME!"
Danny kept calm. "Im afraid that your boyfriend, whent on f22 8. f22 8 is a whole year long." Maria was crushed. "when did he leave?" Danny asked, wondering.
"He left yesterday, on the 26th of June." maria said, Trying not to cry. She sank back down to the bench
"Ahh.. He'll be back on the 26th of June, 1976." Maria was furious she stood up and lunged tword Danny.
"I CANT BELEAVE THIS!! I WANT TO SPEAK WITH LT. GEORGE NOW!!"

CHAPTER FOUR; ANGER CONTROLES HER.
"Now Settle Down Young Girl!!" Danny said.
"NO! Take me to the base!! now!!" Maria was so mad her face was red.
"fine. Follow me." Danny said. "But calm down."
Maria calmed quickly. "right."

Danny escorted Maria through the town, to the base.
"this is the base?" Maria asked. Danny nodded.
"Halt! who goes 'ere??" A Guard said.
"Hi. Im Maria, Im Marks Girlfriend. Mark went on f22 8 and i wanted to speak with Lt. George." Maria answered
"Sorry, Miss, 'Less you have per'ishion, can't let ya in."
"Allow me Maria," Danny said. he cleared his throut. "Boy, Th's H're is is Marks girlfriend. Mark. th' famous sol'er. Sur'ly you Heard A'out He."
"ohh.... I ha' no Idea. Ri' th's way Please." The guard said
"thank you." She said.
"No pr'blem. Miss." Maria bowed.
"now maria, I got you in," Danny said after a while so the gaurd wouldnt hear him. "All we have to do, is look for the door with 10 stars on it."
"Right."
