Art thieves never welcome...
Art thieves never welcome...

The reason for this journal entry goes to all people that wish to grow up as artists. And a reason which shook me out of my cool for several months a while now, which I didn't think it would happen at this stage...art theft.

The last 3 months one of my drawing's pose was stolen right at my face. A person who I used to consider a best friend. I thought, hey she must be practicing, and I just let her...After all the time, she had never told me anything that she was copying my pose. She did not know that I knew what she was doing. A week later, the same drawing, is painted and posted at deviantART, without permission, witout consent, without credits at all.

This, is obviously art theft. Or most likely known as a "rip-off". Is all the same, they steal and rape your creativity, and take full credit for it.

The sad thing is, it might have not been her intention of art-theft/ripping fully. But nonetheless it pisses me off like no other thing in the world. There were many times when I told her to do research on intelligent books of anatomy and what not...not exactly copying material already created. Especially when half the crap she copied of was incorrect to begin with. Not even smart for that! (Guess what sewer said friendship ended at?) And the internet is full of these people too. I see them everyday. I see them in Art School. It is sad.

Let me give you an advice. The only reference you'll ever need is in realism itself. And like H.R Giger's assistant once said: "The only art book you'll ever need, is an anatomy book."
Don't imitate style so much. It won't let you be an artist at all. This goes for all styles/mediums and whatnot, but mainly to the anime/manga community. Cause' they're the first idiots to trace/copy the same exact thing and say "I'm proud of it!" when they don't even realize, what they did and accomplished was nothing. Nothing at all.

It is not because you're an obsessive fan, that you fail. It's because you try too hard in so little time. Be yourself, make art for yourself, not for others.
