I sneaked into the old abandoned house at the end of the street. I was surprised to find a small, padlocked treasure chest on a dresser in an upstairs bedroom. There was a note that said, "Do not open. EVER!" I also noticed a small key hanging on the wall. I tried the key in the padlock. It was a perfect fit. I was instantly filled with curiosity as I heard the click signaling the opening of the lock (Kaboom) My world turned upside down. I could barely breathe as I was wrenched into unconciousness. Later I remember cursing myself for my stupidity on opening the chest. "Wake Up" said a gruff voice. I woke up groggily wondering were I could be. I certainly wasen't in the abandoned house for there were trees galore and plenty of weird sound(Ahh) I screamed for before me was what looked to be a twenty foot snake. Its moist scaley face was filled with what looked to be amusement. The snake sighed "You are the strangest creature I've ever seen. Are you a dragon trying out human form?" "Umm no", I said hoping to keep it from eating me! "I'm a human girl and my name is Rain Cloud from the village fo the Northern Winds." The snake looked me over, her tongue flickering in and out. "How could that be human? One hasen't been in these realms for many centeries since the close of the gate." whispered the snake mockingly. "Now whoever you are or may be, show yourself." it cried giving a shrill whistle. Time seemed to stop. A white mist settled over me making me shiver from its frosty bite. Finally everything came back into focus. The snake was still before me with her tail twitching back and forth. I just sat there waiting for it to eat me and end my misery but, all it did was sit there with those stunning purple and red speckled eyes...........
