Oh to be Three
Oh how I wish to be three
When the sky was a pure blue
And the cloudy were all fluffy and white.
Bugs were fascinating,
Sunsets were simply pretty colors
And a mother's lap was always open.
So when it rained
It was calming noise
That lulled me to sleep
Until the thunderstorms came
With their roaring rumbles
And flashes of terrifying blue light
But Mamma's arms were around me
Protecting me from harm
With Daddy's hand gently stroking my head
Keeping watch over the frightful storm.
When the rainbow came out
A pot of gold was set at my feet
And I ran out into the wet grass
Giggling and splashing in every puddle
I was again content and happy
With no responsibilities or worries.
Oh how I wish to be three.
