Well.

We have a creature lineartist, folks - Frigoris, who did the artwork for the Kyuu I gave out as Christmas presents, is going to draw for me. o_o

So, um, this is gonna happen. Eventually. biggrin WHEE!! I'd also like to get a human lineartist to draw the RP-heavy players and the NPCs like Yeesha, but that can come later. The creature part was the most important.

So anyway - DETAILS!

This project is going to be RP-optional - if you think a particular animal species is cute, you can buy one and it can be sig candy, forever. S'fine.

If you DO want to RP, my goal is to make sure that those who haven't played the games before can still get into it and enjoy it. I think the concept of Myst and D'ni - a great fallen civilization of folk who could literally write worlds into being and then visit them via their books - is one that's quite accessible and interesting to many. :3 So I want to make it interesting and fun for people who have never heard of the games or played them, but are interested in a good plotline. And of course, for people who HAVE played the games, I want it to be an OMGSQUEE project! XD


Many species of animals will be available - I'm going to use everything from the Squees in Myst III to the Sunners of Riven. (So far, the game will only include critters from Myst through Exile and Uru Prime - more species will be added as I finish To D'ni/Path of the Shell and Myst IV.) Animals will be open for all.

If people want to join the storyline and be roleplay-intensive though, they can pay a fee to the shop that will include an image of their Uru character. Journals will be free to all who want them, and they'll be SPECIAL. Very special.

For roleplay, there will be a guild, with a thread for every Age - some canon, some original. Journals will be modeled after the personal Ages in Uru - yes, my Breedable shall be the first to give you YOUR VERY OWN WORLD. XD Of a kind. So your journal will be your Relto Age, and you'll be able to expand and change it via reward pages obtained in RP and via other ways.

As far as locations go, I'm going to use all of the Ages from Myst III, as well as all the Uru Prime Ages and D'ni itself. I'll likely also use Myst Island proper and some of the more 'fun' Ages from Myst - like Channelwood or Rime. And we can make some original Ages too.

Storyline-wise, we'll be building off of the basic Uru concept, post-DRC collapse, including storyline events from canon but branching off at some point into original. I'm not sure where the branch-off point would be; I want to finish To D'ni and Path of the Shell first before I decide. (I also want to make the storyline start point not TOO complex for people who haven't played the game to understand.) Yeesha and other important canon characters will all be NPCs under my control and that of any assistants I end up having.


So, uh, if there ARE any Myst/Uru fans out there, whatcha think of the details? :O
