ah, the great food of Junior high unrest, Rumors. rumors are the downfall of many great friendships, relationships, and even just aquaintenships. they can ruins people lives, completely or just socialy. they hurt, they sting, they even kill sometimes. Rumors are destructive words, thats all, but its the intent behind them that does the real hurting.

Some people have no problem ignoring rumors, those people also tend to be the ones who dont think of themselves as having social status and dont really care about their image. but not always. some of the 'popular' group just shrug of rumors and i applaude them and everyone else who ignores rumors. Now if i may quote from Veggietales
"just what is a rumor?"
"its starts a story. Maybe its true, maybe not. but once you repeat it, its hard to defeat it, NOW look at the mess that you've got!"
Simple and direct is that definition... A rumor is a story passed on from ear to ear that gets changed and twisted and changed. until its unrecogizeable.

"sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" the school child chant we've all said at least once. if only it were true. words hurt. more that phsycial violence sometimes. and the hurt goes deeper, and stays longers, and its harder to regonize someone as hurting from rumors.

Everyone is subject to rumors, from one as simple as "she dies her hair, that not her natural color" to as severe as "yeah she sleeps with EVERY boy she goes out with on the first date" for guys it might be "he's not really all that great on teh football team, he's lying" to "I know he's gay, i caught him looking at john in a dreamy way yesterday."

think about what you say before you say it. and dont pass the rumor on.
