Before anybody posts it:
Bruce Lee might have studied martial arts, but he was no fighter
He did nothing but a great disservice to Martial Arts by making it look all mystical and powerful
I guarantee you that Bruce Lee would not be as big as he was had he not been Asian.

Dude, what are you on? Bruce Lee didn't make it look all mystical and stuff like that. Also, he'd kick your a**.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms I guess could be considered a legend, though some of the people were real. I'm not even interested in reading it, I've just heard what it's about.
I don't really know a lot of martial art related legends.

He wouldn't do s**t to me.

Before ever really started acting, he was learning Wing Chun. Granted he never completed his training, but he is truly an amazing man. Some good legends I think, are Ganga Zumbi (famous ancient Capoeirista), Guan Yi, General Kim, and Admiral Yi Yu Sin (Two famous Korean generals who repelled the Japanese invaders).

Soul Fighters Leg Kicks Before anybody posts it: Bruce Lee might have studied martial arts, but he was no fighter He did nothing but a great disservice to Martial Arts by making it look all mystical and powerful
I guarantee you that Bruce Lee would not be as big as he was had he not been Asian.Kung Fu movies before Lee were relatively much more mystical and fantastical since wu xia films were the style of the day before Lee came round. As for him being popular cus he's asian...sorta the point? He broke racial barriers and offensive asian stereotypes (granted, by replacing it with another) Martial J Quite right there man, and Jun Fan himself said that he was a martial artist first. SUN....Admiral Yi SUN Sin.

From "stories/myths": Musashi Miyamoto - existed, but I'm certain there were plenty of tall tales Wong Fei Hong - because of all the Kung Fu movies about him lol
Boxing: Jack Dempsey - one of the first Americans to make boxing a science Ali - what else can I say?
Muay Thai: Ramon Dekkers - Fierce fighting spirit. Excellent style that inspires the current world's best
Wrestling: Kyle Maynard - Read his book "No Excuses" and see how much more motivated you will become.

I heard that the movie Hero takes an idea from a similar assassination attempt, of course Hero definitely isn't realistic.
The actual legend is that a man did try to assassinate an emperor, where the guy threw a knife at him but it missed. He then try to kill the emperor with a concealed sword but was stabbed by the emperor and finished off by the guards.
I don't remember the guy's name, but I guess that his tale could be considered a legend.
