Hello friends and guild family,
Here is a question that I love to discuss.
Do you think it is possible for us to see the Savior in this life? Do you think we need to be a general authority? Can it happen while we are young, like Joseph Smith, or do we need to be, like 75 or so? If we can, do you think there are qualifications?
What are your thoughts?

Good question.
Yeah. I do think it's possible, but just because it's possible, doesn't mean it's sure. The Second Coming will let us see the Savior, but we don't know when He will come. I would think it could happen anytime (after maturaty, I would think, so they understand what was happening?) in someone's life. I don't think there are "qualifications" to that kind of thing. Except for being righteous or wondering, like Joseph Smith, I guess.
Did any of that make sense?

That does make sense. ( I like your new sig! It's true)
I agree that just because it's possible, doesn't mean it will happen. But I believe it is possible. I don't know if there is an age requirement, but I like how you said we need to be able to understand what is happening. I think it waould be awesome if it happened! biggrin

It would! I think it should be a goal of everyone. In D&C 93:1 it states:
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am
That is so cool. I believe that is a promise to all of us that we CAN see Him and meet Him in this life. What an honor that would be!

I like to point out that even though the scripture (Which is pretty cool) says that we can see Christ. It doesn't necesserly say while we are on earth or when we are in spirit world. But who knows.... we probably already have seen him in the pre-mortal life.

In my opinion, we all definitely saw the Savior before we came down to earth. We all were given a choice to either follow the Savior or Satan and we all chose the Savior. I believe we all saw Him then.

I agree with Snake, we have seen Him in the pre-existence. And this kinda goes along with having your calling and election made sure. I know that can happen in this life, and if that acn happen then we can also see the Savior.

I think seeing the Savior is something we all should hope for. I believe it is possible for all of us and as Babs said, it would be a major honor. I think I would feel very happy and very loved, while at the same time it would be very humbling.

Oh yes. Very humbling. I think it would make it easier to bear your testimony without getting nervous... Like being humble and very confident at the same time. rolleyes sweatdrop That's always been hard for me. It's not hard at all for me at Girls' Camp, but in front of the entire congregation is hard. It's not that I don't fully believe in the church, I just don't like the nerves.

I know what you mean. Sometimes we can feel so good about ourself and then shortly later, feel like we're worthless. Satan doesn't want us to feel good about ourselves. Those fellings you had at girl's camp come from your Father in Heaven. Remember those, and push out the other ones!
And like your journal says... We DO like you for who you are!
