"This was a mistake. A huge mistake," Sekizen said. He'd only been away from home for one day! He kept it's location in mind constantly as he meandered, hoping to experience something good- hoping to find Nix'Annada... She had said she liked his markings! He never forgot- the lion doubted he ever would.

His rumbling stomach woke him from his daydreams. Despite his constant mask, he couldn't hide the misery he was in. Lonely and cold and hungry and thirsty... The list didn't end. Sekizen decided that he would never be a rogue, it wasn't for him. He found no enjoyment in it- all he found was that the world wasn't as nice as he had thought.

"If only Nix were here," he sighed, plopping himself down beneath a tree. A little way back was a water hole that he had stopped at to get a drink, but there still wasn't any food to eat.

Barazahi had managed to break free from the campsite, once again. She loved her family, but she also appreciated her alone time. Not to mention that, to her eyes, all the land was beautiful, only made so by her presence. Raza was coming to enjoy these little jaunts, whether or not she ran into somebody.

This jaunt, however, was quickly made into a hunt, as Barazahi lifted her nose to the air and caught the scent of a stray antellope- a fatal mistake for a preybeast to make. She scanned her eyes all around, trying to pinpoint it, and she successfully did so. The lioness's ears perked forward and she ducked as quickly as possible into the grass. It was important for an individual as bright as her to sneak up on whatever it was they hunted. She stalked until she was surprisingly close to the stupid thing, then jumped, snagged its leg, and went for the lethal bite.

Proud of herself, as she always was after a kill, she decided she'd better drag it home... A daunting task, as it wasn't exactly light. She popped up and looked around, seeing a white figure standing out against a tree in the distance. She knew it was a risk, but she'd be willing to share some if it'd help her, even if just a little way. "Hey!" She called to the stranger, hoping it could hear from that far away.

Seki perked up at the sound of a voice, no matter how distant. It was a female... How dangerous could it be? He rose to his feet and headed towards its source. The closer he got, the more he saw of her. She was blue, and the closer he got, the more he saw her beauty. She, however, wasn't Nix, and he would never love anyone more than her, but... He had to admit, she did have looks on her side. Then the smell hit him- she had made a kill. His stomach growled loudly.

"Hi," Sekizen said as he got closer, stomach rumbling again. "My name's Sekizen. And you are?" He asked expectantly as he got closer to the lioness.

Oh, good! A male! she thought as he approached. An adolescent, no doubt, judging from the state of his mane. Males were stronger, though, this one seemed tired. She felt bad for him... He didn't exactly look well rested.

"Sekizen... That's a nice name," she told him honestly. She did like his name, she'd never heard the likes of it. "I'm Barazahi, Raza for short. You seem hungry," she said after his stomach growled quite loudly for a third time.

"By all means, dig in. I think you need it more than I do," she said. He seemed desperate, struggling. Even after a day in the roguelands, if you didn't know what you were doing, she could tell. It was in the strides and the ribs and the stomach. She could see it. Of course, she had a trained eye, trained by the harsh conditions of the roguelands.

"Thank you so very much," he said before promptly ripping into the carcass. He'd never been this sloppy with eating. However, his instincts had kicked in, and it wasn't long before he had eaten a good chunk, leaving a gaping hole in it, and he still was hungry. He didn't care what the lioness thought, he didn't care about anything else, but he just kept eating and eating and eating.

Eventually, white face stained red, he was satiated and he cleaned himself up as much as he could, as quickly as he could. "Thank you again, miss Raza," he said, looking back into the blue lioness's eyes. He allowed his face to show his appreciation. "I was really hungry." It was needless to say, he'd eaten everything of worth on her kill. He didn't know, though, when the next meal would come. Whether it would be a rabbit or an antellope, he just couldn't take his chances.

"I'm sorry for eating your meal... I'm wandering for a bit. I'm from the Pridelands, I wanted to..." He wasn't sure which truth he should tell her.

"I wanted to find someone. She's a lioness, but she's got two sets of horns and some wings. She's the goddess of lightning, her name's Nix?" He told her, silently begging for the answer to this lioness. Though his face portrayed none of the desperateness that truly existed there.

"No such goddess," Raza spat out as soon as he had said it, shaking her head. There were only a few goddesses, and unless this one was a daughter, she didn't exist. Simple as that.

She changed the subject.

"The Pridelands... Those aren't far from here, are they?" Barazahi asked. Since they'd been wandering, she was learning a great deal of geographic features, particularly the locations of prides. "And don't worry about the meal," she chuckled. "You seemed to be in a rough spot. What I don't get is... if you're out here looking for someone, why didn't you bring a reliable hunter and a guardian with you? Certainly there are plenty where you come from?" She couldn't help but ask.

Doesn't exist?!? He thought irritably. Of course she exists, she let me ride on her back! shouted an angry-cub Sekizen in his mind. He pushed it back, however, and just came to the conclusion that her religion, though wrong, was strongly imbedded into her mind, and there wouldn't be any changing it. So he went with the subject change without a word.

"They're just to the North," Sekizen replied. He too had been learning a great deal in this excursion of his.

"I didn't think I'd need them..." he said, looking at the ground. "Besides, this is something I need to do on my own," he finished, looking back at the bright blue lioness.

"I see," Raza said knowingly. There were those things that you felt you had to do on your own, or else the prize wouldn't be yours. Like the first hunt, she felt, had to be done by oneself. Otherwise the kill wasn't yours, and who knew if you truly could do it on your own? Perhaps whoever this lion was really looking for was so important that he had to go it alone.

"Well, looks like you're lucky to have run into me, isn't it? Plus you've solved my problem too!" She said. Upon seeing the males confused look, she continued. "You see, I was going to lug this heavy thing all the way back to my campsite, but now that it's eaten, there's nothing to lug! No worries, we've got two other huntresses that for sure brought something down." She added cheerfully.

"So you're with a group, that's good," Sekizen said, wishing that he could have a group with him. If he ever left again, he would indeed grab a hunter or two to come with him- rabbits weren't really that filling, not for a lion.

"Well, I'm glad I could help. Any time you need someone to dispose of a carcass, I'm a good one to call," He said with a chuckle. That is, of course, if he was out in these horrid lands, alone, ever again, but he didn't add that. She lived out here, for all he knew. Perhaps she loved the roguelands, and freedom that came along with them, but Sekizen couldn't care less. All this freedom was nothing compared to the warmth and protection of a pride.

"Yes, well, at any rate, I'd better be getting back," She said. "You look tired, get some rest, alright? Good luck finding your lioness." Of course he was probably just making up the bit about the wings, and the female probably had been wearing the horns of some preybeast. Other gods... Ha! Where was he from that thought there were other gods? Whatever, she wouldn't bother him with it.

"See you around, Sekizen," She said as she turned and ran off towards her camp, her home, and her mate, where everyone thought normal, and where everyone knew that she was the most beautiful creature ever to grace this planet with her presence.
