I do no have a party that I obsessively train up or use exclusively. I prefer to alter my line often, exposing many different characters to battle to gain techs and weigh advantages. I've also been playing as a whole bunch of different people, partially as practice for the Coliseum, and partially so I can pace my battles differently and experience them differently. Lately, I've found that Presea is pretty easy and fun, but larger combos are pretty difficult. Genis is fun initially, but unless you've got Randomizer and Quick Cast, you're doing a lot of watching.
I also feel that only a CPU can use Regal to his full potential.
But for those battles where I must bring out my best and brightest, I use Lloyd (Controlled by me), Raine (A must-have in any line-up), and Genis (For his huge versatility and sheer damage factor). The fourth slot, I normally fill with whoever will suit the situation best. One can be assured, though, that after the seals are released Colette will never see active battle duty again.
