Welcome to the Alchemist Training University!!! The most prestigious (and might i add, only) alchemist training facility in the area. We offer private tutoring or large classroom settings, with teachers who specialize in your field of choice, all of whom have gone through extensive training. So please, enter and take your education by the horns!!!

A massive stone fountain, circular in shape, rises into view first, followed by the school itself. At the center of the pool of water is a large statue portraying the four elements of alchemy: fire, water, wind, and earth. The road circles around the base of the fountain, offering two directions to approach the front doors from.

The school itself is made up of two buildings: the dormitories and the classrooms. It has a gothic feel to it, reminding you of European cathedrals with gargoyles sitting watch at the edge of the roof. The ornamentation on the outside of the buildings is a copy of European architecture as well. Small statues sit in alcoves along the walls and tall pillars hold up heavy balconies.

The dormitory is split into two different sections: boys and girls. In the middle of the building is a large common room where students can gather or do homework. The rooms are all singles, eliminating the possibility of hurting someone while you practice. Furnishing is pretty simple inside the rooms: bed, dresser, closet, bathroom, and a window to look out onto the grounds.

The classes building is built much like the dormitories with a commons room in the center of the building and the classes branching out from the center along the hallways. Unlike the dorms, however, the classes are all quite large.

etc. more to come describing the grounds of the university!!!

How rude of me not to introduce myself! My name is Shtona, and i'm the owner and headmaster of the university. I've studied alchemy for years, traveling the world and learning abroad, and now i've decided to settle down and share my knowledge. I hope you've enjoyed the tour of my humble abode so far, i tried to keep it short, but there's just so many interesting things about the house. Let me get back to the university.

As i said, i've decided to share my knowledge and resources with those who are willing. Seeing as how i'm currently the only teacher here, i've derived a system to help break newcomers in and find the best possible educators for my college. To do this there will be a lot of testing and sparring, the first to test your knowledge, the second to test your skill at applying your knowledge. All of it to test you as a person. The system goes as follows:

1: Freshman: (pass initiation)
2: Sophomore: (pass written test i send in 'pm')
3: Junior: (pass oral test in either the thread or 'pm's)
4: Senior: (approval by me through a sparring match)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5: Associate's Degree: (prove teaching skill through mentoring a younger student)
6: Bachelor's Degree: (prove teaching skill by teaching me a lesson)
7: Master's Degree: (prove technique improvement through a sparring match with me, or another with my approvement)
8: Doctorate: (only through my approval)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9: Specialist: (only through my approval)
10: Headmaster: (me ^_^)

Initiation Questions: (Answer in a pm sent to me along with a profile)
1) Why'd you decide to join?
2) Are you willing to work hard and never give up?
3) What kind of alchemy would you like to use? Do you use?
4) The initiation is followed by a quick sparring match with me where win/lose/forfeit you're a Freshman.

Note: To advance you MUST send me a pm asking if you may take the next step. If i feel you're ready i'll give you my approval.
Note: Some classes must be held outside due to possible dangerous conditions.
Note: NO HUMAN ALCHEMY!!!
Note: Nothing other than alchemy and physical melee attacks may be used.

Name: Shtona
Rank: Headmaster
Age: 24
Sex: M
Alchemic Specialty: Earth alchemy, healing abilities (potions/salves), poisons
Weapons: Katana
Appearance: A man who looks years younger than he is, he's often confused for a teenager. His obvious maturity and well versed speech reveals his age to most people though. He stands 5'10" with long shaggy hair that passes his shoulders and has vivid green eyes that tend to stand out on his tanned face. He choice of dress is usually simple: jeans and a t-shirt; a dress shirt if the occasion calls for it.
Background Info: When he was thirteen his father, who was a well know medical alchemist in their hometown, took him in as an apprentice. For the next seven years he learned everything about potions, salves, and poisons that his father had to offer. On his own time he would teach himself offensive alchemy out of books he rented from the library. Most of his teaching took place in the woods behind his house because of his father's distaste for violence. Due to his learning in chemicals and plants from his father and his practice area, his alchemy focused mainly on the earth and plant life. When he was twenty he left to learn abroad and to raise money for his ambitions. His travels ended a year ago, and now he's met his goal of opening a school to teach alchemy.

Intial Questions
1) Why'd you decide to join?
To be perfectly honest, I (as an RPer) am in dire need of an elements based RP. All the others I’ve read haven’t suited my liking, but this one did. So I thought I’d give it a try.
2) Are you willing to work hard and never give up?
Yes. Maybe I should elaborate on that: I’m a creative intellectual and I love a challenge. I roleplay to take on those challenges and struggles I can’t in real life and I don’t like to fail… so, I’d say I’m pretty determined. (My character is as well.)
3) What kind of alchemy would you like to use? Do you use?
I’m all for air and fire if they can be combined. If not, Air. And I’ve never used the elements as “alchemy” before, but I’m eager to learn.
4) The initiation is followed by a quick sparring match with me where win/lose/forfeit you're a Freshman.
Yes! Sparring!!!
Profile
Screename: aphroditia
Name: Anslia Tyne
Rank: Freshman
Roleplays Toucherd: A.T.U.
Age: 22
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Weapons: Currently, two hand daggers worn around her waist. She hasn’t had much training in such things, but aspires to wield any kind of sword – foil, saber, rapier, etc. She has a bit of a fetish.
Appearance/Bio: Anslia is slender – wispy almost. People often think that she will break if they touch her, but they are very wrong. She has trained hard for the past three years, building her upper body strength so that she can be a master swordfighter. Well, that plan fell flat when no one would take her on as an apprentice because of her size and sex.
So, she took many steps to prove she was no ordinary girl. She learned unmatchable finesse with her daggers, shaved her head and tattooed her skull: two daggers, points crossed at the nape of her neck and then up the rest of her skull were two ornate swords – one a rapier, the other a long sword. Their tips crossed at the apex of her skull.
Anslia was the youngest of six boys and the only girl. Growing up wasn’t a joyride for her, but she learned to defend her and hide her emotions. Her tongue is sharp and her words hurt – almost as much as her daggers.
Her journeys have weathered on her. Her skin is a deep tan and scarred: slashes and more. She has very full lips but a very slight figure. She might be mistaken for a small boy if no for her eyes. Big, round, feminine, and a delightful pinky-brown. She hated her eyes.
She’s got a rough outer shell, but like anyone else, it’s only a matter of time before she cracks.

1) Why'd you decide to join?
It looked extremely well thought out, and seemed interesting (and not something where it's just based off romance... or something xP)
2) Are you willing to work hard and never give up?
Yes I am! I'm a very determined person and I get incredibly devoted to whatever I commit myself to. (I promise >:])
3) What kind of alchemy would you like to use? Do you use?
(I'm sorry, I don't really get the 'do you use?' part of the question. Do you mean what I would use if I could and did use alchemy?)
I would use the earth based alchemy, because I like green. Just kidding... I think earth based alchemy would be fun. Maybe you could manipulate the growth of flowers and stuff like that. Water sounds interesting too, but I'd choose earth over water. It just appeals more to me~ x]
Name: Iris Bugiardini
Screename: juniper rose blossom
Age: 17
Sex: female
Race: human
Weapons (if any): [no weapons]
Bio: Raised by her parents, Iris was fascinated by science. As she grew up, she studied furiously in every aspect she could. Biology, chemistry, physics... she ate it up. One day, during a humid summer day, out of sheer boredom did Iris run across this topic of alchemy. The rest of that summer was spent researching and learning about this topic. When A.T.U. opened, Iris was extremely eager to attend. Although the school was quite far from her home, her parents surprised her and allowed her to apply for her secondary education there. She has no qualms about leaving her home (other than leaving her parents behind) for she was often regarded as the "freak" in her small town for loving science so much.

1) Why'd you decide to join?
Well being one who practices alchemy (have an FMA thread.) I love the subject and would like to hone my skills in it and possibly become a teacher of it.
2) Are you willing to work hard and never give up?
Why of course, no pain no gain.
3) What kind of alchemy would you like to use? Do you use?
I would like to perform alchemy in the style of Flame.

1) Why'd you decide to join?
I love alchemy role plays especially ones that don't go along the lines of finding the philosophers stone. ((fyi people they had already found it and used it.)) It just seems pointless to try and change the story. But anyway it has to do with school and alchemy, good combo.
2) Are you willing to work hard and never give up?
Of course what's the point of living if you don't try to live to the fullest.
3) What kind of alchemy would you like to use? Do you use?
Earth Alchemy mainly herbology in growing plants ((different types of medical uses)) rather than working with the actually ground and rocks although that one is also preffered to fire, water, air, and metal.
Profile: Keiko_Asaya
Name: Piper Terrly
Age: 17
Sex: female
Race: human
Weapons (if any): she always has a small dagger tucked away in case of emergency.
Bio: Piper grew up in the suburbs of a rather large city and spent the most time she had with her uncle who started teaching her the basic of alchemy as soon as she was old enough to read it from the book, so roughly around the age of 4. Her uncle passed away when she was 7 and by now she could perform the basics and very simple transitions of the element or elements that she was working with by the age of 9 she could do what nearly any adult who dabbled in the alchemic process could. But at age ten tragedy struck, her younger brother Hunter contracted a deadly disease of which there was no known cure, so Piper took it upon herself to make her own cure. She locked herself up in her makeshift lab and didn't leave for over 8 months, her mother continuely pushed food to the door, and her lab was attached to one of the bathroom areas of the house so from what they could gather she was still alive. When she finally came out her brother had already passed on and to everyone's suprise, Piper was blind. She explained it happened when she was working with unstable chemicals theres a bright flash and she hadn't been able to see anything for the past 5 months she had been working on the cure. After the death she chose to go live with her grandmother on her father's side who had been blind since birth, she figured she could teacher how to move around this hurdle. Suprisingly she picked up brail, walking, and nearly everything else rather quickly. She learned to see with her ears and hands rather than her eyes and as soon as she knew she could carry-on she went back to working on the cure when she was 13. Even if her brother was gone there were still people everyday dying from this disease, she may not have been able to save her brother but maybe she could save someone elses brother or maybe even someone's mother, father, or sister. She was going to finish this cure for what they called an uncurable disease. By the age of 16 nearly 17 she believed she stumbled upon the cure for this terrible illness, she has sent her proto-type to the center of disease control in Central. And from there she figured she's better brush up on her alchemy because she wanted to be able to be good enough to use her abilities for medicinal purposes. ((Piper does not carry a walking stick and to anyone meeting her for the first time it's nearly impossible to tell that she is blind.))

Shtona stood before the window in his office that looked down on the front lawn. He swept his eyes over the land from one wall to the next, stopping briefly on the fountain. He'd made the fountain himself, drawing out a circle and and shaping the statue and tubing for the water. The architect wasn't too happy about that, having lost a good part of his income because of Shtona's 'do-it-yourselfer' attitude. He smiled as he remembered the stunned faces of the construction workers and site managers who walked in the next morning, confused as to how an entire fountain had suddenly sprouted up over night.

Anslia looked up at this strange new place. A swordmaster had pointed her in this direction. (Her contact with him spurted up out of an old family friendship, but she would never admit that.) "Walk until you find the place to which I am directing you." He always spoke in enigmas: oblique answers and riddling facts.

So, Anslia had walked. She walked, walked, and walked until she reached this place. There was something about it... even if it wasn't her intended destination. Reaching behind her back, ahe curled her fingers around one of her daggers. She could handle any trouble that came her way.

In typical Anslia style, she wiped all emotion from her face and set forth, her manner courtly and rogueish at the same time. That hand stayed behind her back as she strode forward, verging left when she hit the fountain.

Architecture never captured her attention, but she had to admit that her eye did linger on that structure.

The headmaster woke from his thoughts and daydreams as movement caught his eye. He rolled his stiff neck and blinked his eyes before he looked to the road below. A young woman was making her way around the fountain towards the front doors.

"My first student..." he exclaimed before turning and heading out of his office.

She looked up. "Damn these are big doors," she breathed, not letting go of her dagger. Always suspicious... always on guard.

Her knuckles made a sharp sound on the wood. She didn't know if anyone would hear her knocking.

"Coming, coming..." he muttered, walking quickly across the carpeted common room floor. He was wearing a pair of loose-fitting jeans and a dark blue dress shirt today. Even on the first day of school he wouldn't fully dress up. When he reached the large oak doors he fumbled in his pockets for the key, wondering why he'd locked it in the first place.

"Ah, here it is." After a series of clicks from inside the door he was finaly able to pull open the door, which wasn't as heavy as it looked. He peeked his head through and smiled at the new student before pushing the door all the way open.

"Welcome to the Alchemist Training University!"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2007 5:32 pm

"So that's what this place is," she muttered, her contralto voice shaking a bit. This place was... overwhelming, to say the least. She scanned the man up and down, quickly accessing his apparent physical abilities. I could take him...
She shrugged underneath her plain, loose-fitting shirt. Her cutoffs and dirty fingernails seemed out of place here.

"I'm... Anslia," she said, extending her left hand and rubbing her scalp with the other. It was the first time she released her dagger. "I dunno why I'm here... exacly. Don't know much about alchemy. Dunno if you still want me."

"Nice to meet you Anslia, I'm Shtona, the Headmaster of the A.T.U. as i like to call it." He extended his own left hand, feeling a little akward shaking her hand since he was right handed. During the handshake he looked her over, noticing the travel-worn clothing. He decided to ignore her other comments until later after she'd cleaned up and rested.

"I see you've been travelling. Would you lke to clean up and rest a bit?" he asked, gesturing toward the dormitory building where the nearest full bathroom was.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2007 5:47 pm

She shrugged, remembering that the left hand shake had been awkward for him. Right handed. Perfect.

She turned around and headed in the direction he pointed. Then, she stopped abruptly and regarded him narrow-eyed. "I... all I have is what I'm wearing. Got any spares?"

Inside, she fumed. She [i[hated asking for help or aide of any sort.

He was closing the door behind him when she asked about clothes. s**t he thought, didn't think of that. "Um...i don't really have any female clothing. Would you mind wearing something of mine until you have a chance to hit a store?" He finally turned towards her, descending the steps and catching up to her.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2007 6:07 pm

She shrugged again. It seemed to be her main form of communication. The closer he got, the brighter his eyes seemed to get. "I don't mind. More comfortable in guys clothing anyway." She paused, trying to decide if this man would be... indulgent. Deciding to throw decorum to the wind, she continued, "If you got anything old you wouldn't mind me keeping, that'd be best... not much money on me either."

He nodded, "I'm sure i can find something..." he replied as he continued on toward the other building. "The building we're approaching is the dormitory building. This is where you'll be staying if you decide to stay at the school." He stopped suddenly and turned to face her. Over her shoulder was a direct view of the fountain and the statue at it's center. "Do you know what's portrayed in that statue?" he asked, pocketing his hands and waiting for her answer.

Anslia shoved her hands into her pockets and rocked back and forth on her heels a bit -- sucked at her lips. All the usual signs of someone deep in thought. After clucking her tongue a few times, she glanced at Shtona. "I'm guessing it has something to do with alchemy. Afterall, that's what this school's for, right?"

She turned back to the fountain with a smirk. "I know I don't talk so great sometimes, but I'm not dumb... or unobservant. Willing to learn and listen if that's what you want to know."
