OK, has anyone noticed the conflict between our progression of technology and Mother Nature? I mean, technology has helped out the enviroment and I think we as humanity should advance our discoveries, but think aboot it: cars have helped global warming and pollution, us humans are stealing the forests and jungles for our stupid malls and abuse of paper, and we waste energy whenever we turn on a light. I am guilty of this, as well, but I am trying to stop. We should all take a break and figure out a way for us to progress in a way that isn't harmful to our beautiful planet. What do you think?

THe amount of paper used SHOULD be going own with the advent of everything going digital, but it hasn't really. Things would also go better if they lowerd the prices of eco-friendly cars, since that's the only real reason that not very many drive them. THey are too expensive. And more efficient eco-friendly power sources (more efficient windmills nad solar panels, ect) would probably make them much more conviently to use over the other power options.

as far as the whole "energy crisis" thing goes, if people would stop blocking the building of new nuclear power plants, which are cheaper than ever, safer than ever, and more efficient than ever, there would be less of an issue. we wouldn't have to depend on things like coal, oil, or natural gas quite so much, so these fuel sources would have considerably less demand, and thus production would drop, as well as prices.

with these 3 giants out of the way, no longer powering our homes, one can derive other uses for them, such as fueling automobiles (in the case of natural gas), diamond production (using coal to produce man-made diamond for industrial use), and other applications.

Solar Power is only a supplemental energy source, at best, and wind power has it's faults, as well.

We really do use an excess of paper I mean for example when most people need to print out a document they use one piece of paper per page however I print front to back, I may not be the most environmentally friendly guy but I am willing to do something. But back to the topic yes I have noticed this for example I had found someone on myspace that believed 'that the consumption of fossil fuels is directly related to the amount of trees and other foliage that motorists are forced to drive around' and I was like okay you know what this is crazy it would do more harm than good. I remember once I asked her 'so let me get this straight, you want to just pave through everything' and she responded with 'no not through everything... over everything'

There is nothing like a clash of technology between tech and nature for me. A lot of technologies are also out, to clean the environment. Of course, worlds energy-winning industry is one of the dirtiest ever.

We have coal and gas power, blowing CO2 into the atmosphere, and nuclear plants which are often overaged, but still in work.

I think there are only a few technologies clashing with nature.

Don't try to tell me Nuclear plants are alright:
A few weeks agos, disturbances in two northern german powerplants were reported. In both cases the transformator houses were burned down. Also, some security systems were not working properly and lead to a leak where some radiation was able to hit people.

One of these Powerplants, is called "Krümmel", in the area of this powerplant is the possibility to get infected by cancer the highest in Germany, since twenty years. It is expected by several scientists, that Krümmel once "farted" dirty and the population wasn't informed about it.

Don't forget Chernobyl (That was a power plant, right?).

Chernobyl was the only nuclear plant in history that actualy had a meltdown, nuclear is alot safer because there has probably only been a few hundred people in the world that have died as a direct result a nuclear power plant compared to hunderds of thousands of poeple that have died over the years from coal plants. so I think nuclear isint that bad.
