With an angry snarl, Loveless snuck through the forest, keeping her eyes peered for any signs of life. She was in a terrible mood as usual, and her body ached from an earlier kill. Her mouth still bled with leftover blood, and her eyes were veiny and tired.

She must have looked like a monster, but that was her usual appearance.

With a flick of her bangs, she strode under the moonlight, making herself seem open in its shiny glaze. She wasn't sure what she was thinking, a part of her felt lonely, while the other ached to kill more. It was a strange mix of emotions, and her entire being felt angry and shattered.

Such horrible thoughts, her eyes teared up as she growled louder.

'My Precious Daugther..'

Ariston watched from a nearby perch, since he instantly smelled his daughter on the air. It had been so long since he had seen her, and he carefully watched until her black shadow fled from the trees to the open land.

She looked frazzled, as usual.

He undid his wings and soared, until he was a few paces away from her. She looked shocked to see him, and he only smiled warmly at her response.

"Hello, Loveless."

Obviously he was worried to see her reaction to him, but he was extremely relieved to finally find her. It had been far too long since they last spoke, and Ariston had so many questions that needed answers from the child.

She hadn't even noticed her father was in the area until his golden body blocked her way. She felt even more distressed, seeing him in front of her like that. That was the LAST thing she wanted, more unnecessary conflict. She had avoided him for so many reasons.. that she ached and hissed at his greeting.

"Hello Father, stalking me are you?"

With a fangy grin, she lifted her neck up elegantly and watched him carefully. What did he honestly want from her? If he was going to ask her to come home, she would surely get violent in response.

Trying to ignore reminiscent feelings, she continued to glare, but tried to only put angry thoughts into her mind to distract herself. Who cared if he was her father, what did that matter anymore?

Ariston kept his composure calm, and sensed how uncomfortable his daughter felt. He felt so disconnected from her- what an awful feeling. What had she been up to in the many months that they were distant? Was she content with how her life was treating her? Did she have companions, or was she alone constantly?

He wondered about everything, and walked a step closer in an elegant fashion. "My daughter, what troubles you so?" he let his purple eyes stare directly at her golden ones, and he shook his head in a non-approving fashion. "I don't understand why you are so frazzled at the moment.

Bringing his usual smile on his face, he noticed a few cuts and bruises that had developed on her body, and felt ill at where they could have come from.

"You look beautiful, as usual Loveless. But, something is off, isn't it?"

Many creatures were afraid of his mysterious daughter, but he surely wasn't one of them!

a*****e.. he didn't know anything about her, how could he tell she was upset?

"Its none of your business, clearly. Don't you have a Unicorn to swoon or something." Her voice was low, and she raised her tone by the end of the sentence. "I shouldn't even be here talking to you." she added, feeling a bit dizzy out of worry. How wrong, for her to be exchanging words with her father who incorporated himself with lessers!

He should be punished.. but yet, why didn't Anevay punish him, then? He had lived this long without being injured by other Kalonas? How was that possible!

She couldn't deny that her father had a different kind of strength, so it pained her to be acting so rude to him. "Why must you be the way you are." she finally blurted, while turning her head away. To not show Pride in her own father, who owned Pride itself? That just felt.. so wrong...

Yes.. now was the time to finally confront what had bothered her since childhood, for this could be the only time possible. Here she was, face to face with her biggest conflict. She tried to keep herself calm, but her mouth drooped into a sad smile. Had she failed her father? Or, did she fail herself?

With a long silence, Ariston studied his daughter carefully, while pondering how to answer her many comments. "It is my business, you know, being your FATHER and everything." He was quite aware of how much Loveless scolded against her mother, so he took it upon him to be the father figure she needed.

"Unicorns aren't my taste, my darling." he said, walking a few steps closer. Why did his daughter look so broken, and incomplete? "Why are you the way you are?" he then stated, tilting his head carefully and slowly. "I believe I have a better reason to ask that question, seeing as I was here before you on this earth."

He then moved his body so it was entirely next to his daughter, and put his wing on her back, stroking it slowly. He heard a faint hiss, but then she was silent, and relaxed. "Loveless, what are you doing to yourself?" Ariston flicked his hair back and nuzzled his daughter gently. "Why are you denying Pride, and only feeling Shame? That in itself is so.. wrong." It was hard for Ariston to understand the concept of doubt, so he felt helpless next to his daughter.

Her father was comforting as usual, and she gave in and leaned her body on his. "I just don't know, father." she said, with a much needed sigh.

Now.. there were so many questions for her to ask, and she went right to it because it was neccesry. "How can you be the Kalona you are, without being shamed? I am doing what is correct, breed is correct." she grimaced at him, wondering if her words hurt him. No, they needed to be said, it needed to be asked. Nothing would be resolved if they weren't.

"What else am I supposed to feel besides Shame? Our family is pathetic, and you.." she stopped herself, wondering if her father really WAS pathetic. Was he? Was his communication with lessors really that big of a deal? She turned to him, just waiting for answers. "How can you strut around as the Kalona you are?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 29, 2007 7:41 pm

Ah yes, the question that he expected, and wished that she had asked MUCH sooner, instead of plaguing herself with unnecessary thoughts.

"I am the Kalona I am because it is the Kalona I want to be." he responded, with a confident grin. "As you should be the Kalona you want to be, not reflect it on what you are supposedly supposed to be." Silly Kalonas, getting into Loveless' head like that. "I would think I taught you all of these concepts well, Loveless. Where did I ever bring doubt into you and your brothers lives? That is something you have developed on your own, and it is disgustingly weak."

"If the Kalona you are is what you truly want to be, then you shouldn't be feeling doubt in yourself. I though, should never be a reason for doubt. That is just a waste of your time." he added, with a light snort.

"You should expect this from me, and although I am very self centered, I am not an idiot. I choose what to do because I value myself above others. What is so wrong with that?" With a twisted grin, he chuckled lightly and walked a few paces away from her. "I am my own being, be it by Breed, Blood, or Rule. My Sinhood is more important to me, then any other silly things."

"Your actions bring me doubt." she stated, bluntly. Didn't he understand? Everything he did was WRONG. So so wrong.

"I.. think this is what I want to be. Being correct makes me feel more worthy." she stated, while watching his stern eyes. She didn't care if he approved- all that mattered was her own approval. She needed to tell herself that what she was doing was right, and for herself.

"How can you ignore the breed which we are, though!" she almost yelled, feeling exhausted since he wasn't listening at all. "Kalonas were made for a reason, and you contradict the honor by incorporating yourself with lessors. They are nothing but our food! They are scum, worthless, freaks..." Plus, they just sucked overall. "Just because you find something pretty, shouldn't mean you find something worthy." she snorted, with an angry glare.

Ariston went right to what was obvious and looked at his daughter sternly. "Why does Breed matter to you so much? You would give up your own soul to only follow what is supposedly said by nature? What an awful thing to even consider!" Like HE would ever abide by such a rule! He just couldn't understand how his own daughter had all this time.

Maybe she really didn't understand, and Ariston was starting to get edgy on all of this grief his daughter was going through.

"Yes, but why are Lessors all of those things? If you can actually explain it to me, with a heartfelt concern, maybe I will believe that this is what you really want." Ah, he had almost challenged her. He knew it might have been a low blow- but Loveless obviously needed it.

Loveless lowered her head, and backed up away from her father. She certainly was NOT going to fall for his silly mind trap. "I am sure many Kalonas have already tried explaining such a way of life to you, and you have not listened. I will not waste my time giving you such valuable knowledge, especially if it is a mockery to you. For the last time, I am the way I am because it is correct, and correct makes me feel Proud."

She undid her wings, and was still emotionally flustered. Her father looked completely calm, but she knew he also ached with thoughts as much as she did.

"I'm leaving." was all she said, and with a tilt of her head, she jumped into the air, only to soar away quickly. She knew her father well, and there was NO way he could ever catch up to her. He feared wind damage too much.

In her moment alone flying, she did nothing- and even completely ignored her thoughts. Looking only at the moon, Loveless longed for a night of sleep, and a newly filled morning of tomorrow. That way, she could forget all of this as if it never happened.

That would prove to be harder then she would realize.

Ah, she left. That was surprising, even for Ariston. Though, she had remained in front of him longer then he could have ever hoped, so he was relieved to see she was alright and alive.

He watched her dark figure in the sky until it had completely vanish, and turned his body to walk in the other direction. She hadn't changed at all since she was little, and he chuckled lightly while shaking his head.

"Oh Loveless, when will you learn?" Was all he spoke to the air, and he undid his own wings to fly off to where he liked to take rest, while also trying to shield his thoughts with the sight of the moon. She really was something, that Loveless of his. She would never admit it, but she was more like Ariston then she would ever know.
