Welcome To The Dragons Levels of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
We've got a few simple rules, so listen up.
1. Obey all Gaia TOS and such. Duh. We don't mind a 7th year cussing, but tastefully so. Keep it in character.
2. This is a Harry Potter based RP. If it doesn't fit with the Harry Potter world, it doesn't belong. That being said, we're really very lientant. You really want to play a vampire, that's cool. Love elves? Us too. Adore half-hobbits? That sounds cool. JUST PLAY THEM WELL.
Amendment : This, however, does not give you right to be invincible. An incredibly amazing character without any weaknesses or flaws is completely unreasonable. We don't allow them. Nor do we allow you to Mary Sue, or anything else. We expect originality. You can do it, we believe in you.
3. Obey all in game rules, such as first years not allowed to bring brooms or play quidditch, and no Slytherins in the Gryffindor dorms. You will get in trouble for jinxing other students, you will get in trouble for whatever.
Amendment : We have changed a few of the cannon rules to make more things available to everyone. First years ARE now allowed to have brooms and play quidditch. And ALL students are eligible for the 3rd year + classes.
4. There is no mandatory anything. We understand everyone not having the amount of time they wish they had. Can't get your homework done? That's okay. We will give rewards for those who do, but won't deal out punishments. The only thing we ask is that if you're in the middle of an RP with someone and you need to leave for more than 24 hours - let them know! Falling asleep at the computer is one thing, going on an announced vacation and leaving someone hanging is rude.
Amendment : We're having trouble with people signing up for something (classes, quidditch, etc) and not showing. This also falls under being rude. We DO have punishments for this. Pleasepleaseplease fulfill commitments. If you say you're going to do something, do it. If you realize you can't, please alert someone to the fact you can't so we can take you from the list or whatever.
5. OOC Chat needs to be in the OOC forum. That's why we paid 2500 gold to have it.
6. Godmoding is a serious offensive around here. It will get your in trouble. Both passive and active Godmoding! Godmoding includes but is not limited to playing other people's characters, playing staff, playing NPCs, declaring the outcome of a situation before others are given the chance to react, placing yourself on a house team, placing yourself as a prefect/head student. We are having a lot of trouble with this. If any of this comes up in your profile, you will automatically be unaccepted. If it comes up in RP, you will automatically get a staff review. We're serious. Don't do this. It's not cool.
7. Do not be unreasonably stupid. There is entirely too much stupid the staff here has to deal with, and Skada will begin banning those who annoy her with stupid. Like posting in the announcements thread when you are not staff nor making an announcement. Or whatever. Stop being stupid. Seriously.
8. Do not needlessly PM Skada. If you're new and in need of direction, post in the questions thread in the OOC Chat, someone will be right along to help you. If you need to make something known to us, use the member's announcement thread again in the OOC Chat (NOT the one in the main forum).
