Night had come, and again she withdrew into herself. Pulling herself closer and closer until she was as tightly wound against herself as possible, she felt the drops fall upon her once more. The darkness crept upon her, a thick and impenetrable wall as she was without any lights. Why must this happen to her? Every night, again and again she hid from all, until the morning when she could burst forth into her usual self. But at night, night was the time for the darkness to reign. She longed for the light, the sun, the happiness of life. The bees buzzing round, and the slightly breezy wind which brought refreshment from the ever glowing sunshine. The wetness slid down her, she could do nothing to prevent it from soaking her through, all she could do was pull herself tighter, closer, yet it would not stop-relentless thing it was. Her misery grew. If only...if only the light would return, and she could be safe again. The night wore on without a single thought about how she felt about all of this. The darkness prowled on. Finally, she was able to sense herself having fewer and fewer streaks of wet upon her. The darkness was being battled she noticed. A cool gray settled upon her as the world lightened. Soon the sun would peer over the horizon, seeking her out, giving her reassurance that all was well and that she could dry herself off. As the sun triumphantly rose, she uncurled herself, drying off, and spreading herself out for the world to see her in all her glory.
