It was the first time in a long time that Fawkes could remember leaving the mountains. There was a time in his childhood that he had been spooked by another great winged creature, one that was more violent then even some of the predators he had witnessed. That fear had kept him in the mountains, living alone since then, but the words that a sparrow had passed onto him intrigued him. It was nothing new, but the bird had mentioned a huge surge of fellow Soquili had filled the forest below. And figuring that he was big enough to keep the winged creature away, he ventured out into unknown territory.
A red hoof carefully led the firey-coloured stallion through the forest, Fawkes' golden eyes darting around, picking up on every movement that darted around him. It was all new to him, the sudden mass of trees that kept him grounded, the sheer amount of wildlife that had their own lives and chores keeping themselves busy. He would admit, he didn't know if he liked it all too well, but he had always been told to give everything (and everyone) a chance, and he took a deep breath before continuing on his blind trek.

I don't like this, Asherah complained to herself inside her mind. Not one bit did she like it. Of course she had promised herself that she'd expand her horizons and tread away from the sea. Oh, she loved the sea and she'd be perfectly content to stay basking in the waves for eternity. However, there was more to life than the salty scent of the ocean's waters and the playful fish that swam around her hooves. More than the sandy beaches that were oh-so-perfect to lounge on.
And that 'more', Asherah had decided, was hers to discover. Unfortunately, Ash's mood never remained incredibly up there when she was far from the sea and so the usually playful, carefree and unpredictable mare had taken on a small scowl. Moreso when the sight of the fiery male with such large wings came before her.
Fire and water rarely mixed well and if they did they created steam - that could be taken however one wanted to, of course. With Ash, either was certainly possible.
Twitching her own wings she took a step forward, "Move," she said quite clearly to the stallion, "I need to get through." There had to be water SOMEWHERE near there and the heat was making her a bit more than cranky. No 'please' or 'thank you' from an agitated Sea-mare. Nope.
